AGBS, Bangalore held its second concluding ceremony on the 13th of May, 2011 on its campus. The students of the passing out batch were welcomed formally with a tilak and a rose at the entrance.
Inspite of having an exam the next morning, nearly the entire batch was enthusiastically present. They felt that the ceremony was held in their honor and were eager to be a part of it and were thus dressed formally. Exactly at 5.15, the students, staff, faculty and dignitaries from NOIDA were welcomed warmly by the Dean – Prof. S Murali.
Mr U Ramchandran, Asst Vice President, AGBS - National Campuses was the Chief Guest for the function and in his inspiring speech, he emphasized the importance of blessings from parents and teachers. He touched upon Amity’s growth and carried the President’s blessings for the students with him.
After the distribution of the certificates and taking of photographs, our Campus Head - Dr T.R Venkatesh addressed the students. He gave them valuable advice on how to conduct themselves while in the corporate world and wished them luck.
This was followed by the most awaited event of the evening - the Area Merit Awards, non academic awards, salvers & Citations and the most popular award – the best managers award. The students were engaged on by the emcees to guess the awards and everyone enjoyed themselves.
The Concluding speech was delivered by Dr Sanjay Srivastava, Mentor AGBS who had come from NOIDA to be with us. He gave a rousing speech, motivating students to excel in their personal and professional lives, giving them three gems to abide by.
Alwyn Lawrence of the passing batch gave an emotional farewell speech which summoned tears to the eyes of all.
The ceremony ended with the National anthem. The students, staff and faculty happily posed for photographs and then all proceeded for dinner.
The emcees of the occasion were – Kavitha Bhaskar, Vijay Jain, Adite Nair, Bharanee Tharan, and Faiq Asrar. The entire evening was conducted enthusiastically by the students of MBA Sem II despite the pressure of exams.
