Amity Chandigarh organized a three day orientation session to welcome their 4th batch of MBA and BBA students on Aug 29,30 & 31, at their premises
Day 1 Began with a havan ceremony for an auspicious start of the session wherein the entire Amity family joined together to pray for the happiness and growth of the institution. Thereafter, our respected Head, Dr. Shivali welcomed the newcomers and introduced the entire faculty and the staff members to the new students. In her address, she emphasized on inculcating the core values of Amity culture and imbibing the best of its practices and philosophies. She urged the students to carry forward the mission of our Hon’ble Founder President Dr Ashok Chauhan to make India a superpower by 2030 and contribute towards India’s progress.The day was also marked by a series of sessions by senior faculty members.
Day 2 Started off with a Proficiency Test for the students, followed by a mentoring session regarding Amity Institutions, their paradigms and issues. A career planning lecture was then given by Mr. Sanjiv Dhir, faculty member followed by briefing about institutional activities and various committees by Ms. Heena Pura. In the evening, a Corporate Forum was organized where Mr Himmesh Sharma,Regional Head-Tata Motors Finance, Mr Rajesh Pandey-Director, People Factor India Pvt.Ltd. and Mr Buland Iqbal Singh, Head Corporate HR, Kamla Dials and Devises Ltd.,shared their thoughts with the freshers and enlightened the students about various expectations of the corporate sector from MBA graduates. It was a learning experience for the students.
Day 3 Discussion of student assignments by faculty members, an ice-breaking session to help students interact and know each other better, followed by a Workshop conducted by experts from the corporate sector. The main event of Day 3 was the conduct of the Community Lunch by the students of the new batch. The entire concept was to divide the students in groups wherein they had to choose the themes, menu, setup, attire for their food stalls. The purpose of this very interesting exercise was to bring out creativity, innovation and foster team spirit in the new students so that they work in co-ordination as a team and enjoy doing this group task. It was a very funfilled and enjoyable exercise for the students and they thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of organizing their stalls. All members of Amity Chandigarh had a good time going through the stalls and the efforts of the students were well applauded.
The Orientation session came to an end with an Interactive session of the fresh batch with their seniors. The entire Orientation session was a huge success and marked a good starting of the new session.
