Amity Institute of Telecom Technology & Management organized a guest lecture by Mr. Adrian Topp, Head Managed Services Network Operation, Ericsson India Global Services Private Limited for students of MBA- Telecom Management, M. Tech and B Tech (E&T). Faculty and students of Amity School of Engineering & Technology also attended the lecture session.
Mr. Adrian has more than 25 years of experience in Telecom Sector.Adrian Has previously held Director level roles within Colt/Verizon/MCI/World Com/British Telecom with a responsibility of managing operational, network planning, financial and project team across Global footprint. Currently he is responsible for Ericsson Managed Services Operational Programmes in India, China, Mexico and Romania. He holds HNC in Engineering and a member of International Institute for Management based in Switzerland where he has attended several leadership programmes.
Mr. Adrian deliberated on key themes for services business, in which he covered sources for new revenue, operation efficiency, new growth market and IP centric convergence. He also covered pressure on service providers, technology venders and competition amongst network venders.
He highlighted how subscribers’ growth, CAPEX strategy, cost reduction, focus on core competence act as drivers for telecom out sourcing. Following models for outsourcing were also discussed:-

b. Clear scope for managed services
c. Well planned transition
d. Long Term Contract
e. Service Level Agreement
f. Incentives for both parties
g. Practical contact management
h. Contractual flexibility for emerging needs
He said in future Customer Experience Management will be the key to success of service providers and its outsourcing partners.
He also discussed key points in developing win-win relationship between service providers and outsourcing partners.
The lecture was highly interactive and concluded with a Q&A session which was very interesting for the students.
