The Orientation Program for new batch students of GDBA+BBA & PGPM + MBA Program was conducted on 12th to 14th Sept’12 at AGBS Patna. It was a well planned and organized event.
Counselors and IT were assigned the work of Registration. The documents along with the check list were distributed to the new joinee well in advance. At 9 AM the registration work was started. Simultaneously a group assigned the hospitality work were busy in entertaining the parents. All the students were asked to come in proper prescribed dress of AGBS Patna. Similarly the staff and faculty members were also present in corporate suit/dress.
Orientation program is a process to acclimatise new students towards Amity’s philosophy, its culture, vision, mission, program and objective for building India – a great nation through creating a talent pool. The students are provided information and they are exposed to various activities like Alumni/Corporate executive interaction alongside their Academic activities.
In the beginning of the program (1st day) 63 nos. of students were registered & their documents were collected by Admission Department. Meanwhile the guardian were taken to the Seminar Hall for film viewing and they were served tea / coffee, snakes at regular interval. The Director met all the Guardians individually.
The first day was started with havan and chanting holy mantras in which all the students, staff & Faculty were involved. The Director Dr. C.B.P. Srivastava who was clad in conventional holy attire performed puja, Hawan, Aarti etc.
At 01:30 the Director addressed the students, Faculty members (Regular & V.F.) in the presence of Industry guests. He presented a detailed analysis of the word development. He explained D for Dedication E for Entrepreneurship, V for Value Addition and so on so forth.
At 4 pm two of our Alumni Ms. Swarnakshi Jha and Mr. Aakash Kumar addressed the students. They laid more emphasis on discipline, which they referred as the key to success for AGBS Patna.
The second day began with briefing on Amity’s philosophy, the President’s vision, the Chancellor’s mission to make India a superpower by 2030 and role of Amitian for this great cause. The Director briefed about the academic discipline & session progress, examination, evaluation etc.
Mr. Anirudh Gautam, Regional Head, Tata Motors took a session on the “In Pursuit of Excellence” followed by Book review and presentation on the leadership traits of their role model. Mr. A.K. Pandey Manager(Mkt) briefed the student about Study Abroad Program. His session was highly informative and motivating for the students.
Ms. Garima and Preeti had another session with the students on various leadership & entrepreneurial traits. Mr. Gaurav Gupta, DGM who represented AGBS H.Q. took a lively session on Amity Group. He presented an overview on the spreading wing of Amity all across the country and abroad.
A very interesting and motivating session was conducted by the Director in which all old and new students participated. This was in true sense real “Ice breaking and defreezing session” which all the students enjoyed very much.
Aft 5:30 two Amity Alumni namely Mr. Raunak Mehra and P.C. Verma, Manager, HSBC talked the students. They placed before them the Amity & Amitian on a very high esteem. They briefed on “Charm of being Amitian”.
At the end students performing 1,2,3 were given Prizes on various parameters as per the session plan.
