Image Processing Technologies
Amity School of Engineering and Technology of Amity University Madhya Pradesh Located at Gwalior conducted a seminar on “Image Processing Technologies” on 19th April 2013. The seminar started with traditional lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Inaugurating the seminar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. V. K. Sharma delivered his opening remarks on the theme by focusing on the current perspectives of image processing and technologies. He also stressed the need to undertake research activities to contribute towards the advancements in image processing practices. Prof. (Dr.) R. S. Jadon of Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior delivered the keynote address to the participants of the seminar. He presented the various perspectives of video data processing to capture the imagination of the participants.
The students of first year B.Tech. (CSE) and B.Tech (IT) of the Amity University Madhya Pradesh delivered a number of well- researched presentations with sub-themes in Digital Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition and Analysis, Image Acquisition and Medical Imaging, Unique Identification Technology, Image Compression and Coding. Meenal Pawar, Ankita Sharma, Swechcha Chauhan, and Shagun Kathuria presented a paper on Introduction to Digital Signal Processing. Shubham, K. Preetham Paul, and Parul Sinha presented a paper on Pattern Recognition and Analysis. Apoorva Singh Jadon, Charushi Rupani, Shreya Wadhwani and Pankul Kushwaha presented a paper on Image Acquisition and Medical Imaging. Kshitij Sinha, Nikita Sukhija, Ritika Narwariya and Harsh Sunny presented a paper on Unique Identification Technology. Anshul Sharma, Suchetan Mahapatra and Vignesh Kumar presented a paper on Image Compression and Coding. The student presentations were formalized under the active guidance of Mr. Vivek Parashar and Mrs. Amrita Parashar of Computer Science and Engineering Department. The programme was hosted by Ms. Aashima Arora (1stYear B.Tech. in CSE) and Ms. Akrati Sharma (1st Year B.Arch.).
Participation certificates were distributed to all the speakers and outside participants of the seminar by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AU MP. A number of professionals, researchers and educationists from Gwalior also volunteered to participate in the seminar. The Dean (Academics), Registrar, Director (Administration), Heads of Schools,faculty members, staff members and students were present on the occasion. A vote of thanks was proposed by the Convener of the programme. The programme was conducted by Dr. Bikram K. Bahinipati, Deputy Director and Head of Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh. The event was highlighted by overwhelming participation by students of Amity University and other institutes in Gwalior, which was organized in the packed-house auditorium of the university. The seminar ended with a standing ovation to the guest speakers, student presenters and the organizers.
