Celebration of 67thIndependence Day
Amity University, Madhya Pradesh celebrated the 67th Independence Day at the university campus with great enthusiasm and gaiety. It is a tradition in Amity University, Gwalior to celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day with patriotic fervour. The faculty and students turned up in large numbers and took the pledge on this occasion to uphold the unity and integrity of our great country.
The function started with hoisting of National Flag by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd). All the faculty members, staff and students gathered on the roof top of the academic block of the University. It was followed by singing of National Anthem and patriotic songs by faculty and students.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble VC addressed the audience and said that the Nation comprises of each individual and we all should be proud of our rich culture and heritage and should strive to make our country economically strong, so as to be a leader not only in Asia, but in the world. During his message to the faculty and students, he recounted events and the sacrifices made by our leaders and countrymen to get us Independence from the British. He also stressed on the need of nation building and imbibing ethics, values and discipline in our lives.
The function ends with faculty and students enjoying High Tea served at the occasion.
