Orientation Programme– 2013-14
On August 29 and 30, Amity University, Madhya Pradesh organized an orientation programme for the students and parents of the newly admitted students. The aim was to make the students familiar with the various rules andregulations of the university and introduce them to their faculty and respective mentors and break the ice between the students.
During the orientation programme, the university authorities including the Hon’ble VC, AUMP, Dean (Academics), Registrar,Director Administration, Controller of Examination and faculty from Jaipur and Noida campuses also interacted with the students and their parents.
The programme started at 9:30 in the morning with the distribution of welcome kit to the students. It was followed by a Havan, in accordance with our traditions. This was followed by address to parents, students and faculty by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor.
Welcoming the students, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd), said that the orientation programme helps the students in getting to know the rules and regulations of the university and breaking the ice between the students and the faculty, senior students and among themselves. Allocation of Mentors and meeting between Mentors and Mentee is also done during the Orientation Programme.
Hon’ble VC also spoke on the issues related to scholarships, dress code, state-of-the-art infrastructure, wi-fi enabled campus and hostel, medical facilities, attendance rules, university timings, mentor-mentee relationship, sports facilities, and about maintaining discipline in the university campus.
He talked about the new academic block that has already come up for the students and said it has all the state-of-the-art facilities and is centrally air-conditioned.
Hon’ble VC stressed upon the 101 attributes of an Amitian. He advised the students to inculcate these attributes in themselves and said that students can acquire these attributes and achieve much in life only after hard work. Hard work is the key to success and one cannot win without hard work, he further added.
Talking on Anti-Ragging measures, Dr R S Tomar, Chairman, Anti Ragging Committee advised the students to refrain from any kind of ragging activities and also told that the university authorities will not tolerate any kind of indiscipline from the new or the old students.
The Registrar, Director Administration and Controller of Examination also briefed the students on aspects pertaining to their departments.
Later, on 30th August 2013, all the students registered themselves on Amizone and formal conduct of classes will start from 02 September 2013.
