27th, 28th and 29th August 2013 were red-letter days at AGBS-Bangalore. The fresh batch of students for MBA+PGPM (2013-2015) and BBA+GDBM (2013-2016) underwent 03-days Orientation Program. After the formal registration of students, the students and parents who numbered about 120 participated inthe traditional ‘HAVAN” to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. In the welcome address by Dr. T R Venkatesh, DG AGBS Bangalore, conveyed Amity Greetings from our respected Honorable Founder President – Dr. Ashok K .Chauhan, beloved ShriAtul Chauhan, President – RBEF and Chancellor, Amity University; and Mr. U.Ramachandran, Vice President and Head AGBS campuses; Later on, following sessions were held: Introduction of Faculty byDG AGBS Bangalore, Overview of courses by select Faculty and emphasis onacademic disciplines to enhance learning among students,etc.
The highlight of the program was the visit of Shri Subhash Jagota, alumni of XLRI, Jamshedpur and a Senior Corporate person, who is closely associated with Amity Institutions.He conducted Proficiency Test and Personality Test with feedback. He ingeneral prepared students for facing the challenges in student life and professional career. Shri Subhash Jagota interacted with students (both seniors and juniors) and with the help of interactive exercises, made students realise the importance of having a positive mental attitude essential for success.Later in the day, He had a separate meeting with Faculty group.
Earlier in the day, our alumni, Mr. Manav Subodh-Global Manager-Corporate Affairs, INTEL India, spoke to the students and stressed on the need to develop qualities of flexible thinking and life-long learning as corner stones for future success.
Industry representatives such as Mr. Rajesh Chopra, AVP of Amba Research, Ms. Seema Sally and others spoke to students highlighting the importance of developing good personal and professional qualities and also nurture the same in others.
Other activities of the orientation program which were conducted include quiz, team game called ‘Treasure Hunt’, cultural activities, brief about Sangathan, sports activities, mentor-mentee system,etc., which were designed to give the students a flavor of management education.
