Sarvadeshik Arya Veerangana Dal in association with Amity has been organizing personality development and self defence camps for girls for many years. This year too Sarvadeshik Arya Veerangana Dal organized nine days camp from May 19, 2007 to May 27, 2007 at Amity Education Valley, Panchgaon, Manesar, Gurgaon. The camp was organized by Ms. Uttama Yati, Pradhan Sanchalika and Ms. Mridula Chauhan, Sanchalika. Concluding ceremony commenced with the flagging off ceremony by Swamy Pranwanand Saraswati. Mr. S.K. Arya, Managing Director & Vice-Chairman, Jai Bharat Maruti chaired the valedictory function. Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity University was the Chief Guest of the occasion while Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools, Mr. Rasa Singh Rawat, Member of Parliamant, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuriya, MLA, Swami Agnivesh, Mahashay Dharampal graced the occasion as the Guests of Honour.
While hoisting the flag Swami Pranwanand Saraswati remarked that Arya culture is the oldest which is still in practice. The teachings of Swami Dayanand Saraswati are still relevant in today's time as well. Swami Dayanand advocated girl child education and was against the evil practices like Sati Pratha, Dowry system. He unfurled flag known as Pakhand Khandini Pataka at the bank of Ganga River to enlighten the common man against the superstitions and other bad rituals that were prevailing at that time.
Mr. S.K. Arya, Managing Director & Vice-Chairman, Jai Bharat Maruti said that it is a great feeling to see that the camp organized for the overall development of young girls was successfully orgainsed by Sarvadeshik Arya Veerangana Dal at Amity Education Valley. Training and skills which the participants have gained will benefit them for their entire life and help them gain confidence and face the hardships diligently. Mr. Arya also awarded certificates and medals to the participants for their achievements.
Lauding the participation of girls and their parents in this unique camp, Dr. Ashok. K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity University said that the teachings of Vedas should be inculcated in every person. It not only gives us a new way of living life but also a source to link us with the Ultimate Power of Universe - GOD. At Amity we educate our student the essence of Vedas. Each of our students receives World Class education with best faculty and state of the art infrastructure and are firmly placed in their cultural roots. Dr. Chauhan said that the participants of the camp have enriched themselves with the techniques of Self defence and personality development and is sure that these participants will never bow in front of others for support.
Ms. Mridula Chauhan, Sanchalika (Organizer) of the camp said that around 150 girl students aged between 13-22 years from different schools and institutes of Delhi and NCR had taken part in this camp. The objective of this unique camp was to educate on personality development, learn and develop self defence techniques, imbibe feeling of patriotism amongst the participants and make them aware of our Vedic Principles and traditions so that the participants of the camp can serve for the betterment of the Country, Society and Family. Besides these, girls received training on Para Sailing, Mountaineering, Rope Climbing, shooting etc as well as on basic health care, beauty care, child care and home management in general. Participants were not required to pay any charges during the camp. All requirements like food, bedding, medicines were served to participant by the camp organizers, informed Ms. Mridula Chauhan.
