ORGANISES SEMINAR ON
INTERDEPENDENCE OF MEDIA ON SOCIAL NETWORKING

Amity School of Communication organized a seminar on the Interdependence of Media and Social Networking on 5th March 2014. The seminar aimed to focus attention on social media and its increasing impact on our day to day life.
The inaugural session of the seminar started with the lighting of the lamp and was presided over by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP Lt. Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd). Dr. Durgesh Tripathi, Associate Professor Guru Govind Singh Indraprasth University, Delhi was the Chief Guest and the keynote speaker. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor in his inaugural address shared his views on social media and its impact on education. The key note address by Chief Guest Dr. Durgesh Tripathi focused attention on the impact of digital media in every field whether it is media, education, science etc.
There were presentations on four sub themes of the seminar. The first group talked on the “Social Networking and its Impact on National Building”. The topic was discussed by Aanchal Sawhney, Tapasya Kushwaha, Aman Srivastava, Rakhi Tomar and Abhishek Diwedi of BJMC 2nd Sem. The group showed a video on the impact of social media on nation building. The second group talked on the “Impacts of Social Networking on Media” They also presented a video made by them, which showed a small survey on what students prefer: social media or traditional media. The topic was covered by Ruby Rajawat, Nikhil Koshta, Shruti Srivastava and Akhil Upadhya of BJMC 2nd Sem.
The third group talked on “Education Through Media and Social Networking”. The topic was discussed by Aanchal Sahani, Pushpendra Karki, Anurag Sharma and Abhishek Soni of BJMC 4th Sem. Their concluding video showed the growth of social media and its impact on education. The fourth group talked on the “Future Trends in Media and Social Networking”. The topic was discussed by Nitesh Tripathi, Paridhi Diwedi, Sumedha Talwar, Shivam Sharma and Nagendra Rajput of BJMC 4th Sem. Their video was on the future of technology, which was very much appreciated.
The seminar concluded with the remarks of Mr. Balram Soni. He shared his views on the impact of social media on print media. Thereafter Dr. Sumit Narula, HOI, ASCO proposed the vote of thanks and expressed his gratitude towards the Vice Chancellor, Dean Academics, Guests, faculty members of AUMP and students from Amity for their patient hearing during the seminar.
