Students from Rungsted Gymnasium School, Denmark visit Amity University

In the globalised world, it has become essential for students to be groomed as global citizens, well versed cross cultural sensibilities.

Recently, Amity University, Uttar Pradesh and Amity International School, Noida, which are reckoned for their global outlook since inception, hosted a delegation comprising of 46 students and 4 teachers of Rungsted Gymnasium School, Denmark.

Ms. Jyoti Arora- Head, Amity International Resource Centre welcomed the delegation at School and apprised them with the global mission and vision of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity International Schools whose untiring efforts have made Amity International Schools “Centres of excellence and academic brilliance”

Ms. Renu Singh- Principal, Amity International School, Noida presented an overview of Amity International Schools.

Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan- Chairperson, Amity International Schools interacted with the Danish students and faculty members who familiarized her with the education system in Denmark. She also presented them beautiful paintings, made alive on the canvasses by Amity International Students.

Subsequently, brief workshops were held for Danish students and faculty members. The theme for teachers’ workshop was “Danish Didactics”.  The Danish students were divided into five groups along with the students of Amity International Schools and discussed various issues such as-“ Globalization – is it really necessary?”, “Gender Equality-Are beauty contests degrading womanhood?”, “Women Empowerment  and the changing role of women”, “Knowledge of heritage enhances one’s personality”, “Women are better at multi-tasking” and others.

The Danish delegation then visited Amity University and interacted with Atulasha students (school for underprivileged boys run by Amity Humanity Foundation wherein they are given free education, books, meal etc.), who greeted Danish students and faculty members with Gayatri Mantra and various English and Hindi poems.

The Danish students made paintings with Atulasha students in their classrooms.

The delegation was familiarized with rich Indian culture and traditions through various dance forms presented by the students of Amity University. The eager Danish students even learnt few Bollywood Dance steps.

The delegation also visited Amity School of Communications (ASCO) where they were given a glimpse of Amity Universe. They were shown state of the art infrastructure at ASCO including the studio and radio station which left them very impressed.

The visit to well stocked Central Library left the Danish students amazed at the vast number of multi-disciplinary books made available under one roof.
