Emerging Trends in Engineering Materials
Amity School of Engineering and Technology of Amity University Madhya Pradesh Gwalior conducted a seminar on “Emerging Trends in Engineering Materials” on 28 March 2014. The seminar started with the traditional lighting of the lamp and Saraswati Vandana. Inaugurating the seminar, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM(Retd) delivered his opening remarks on the theme by focusing on evolutions and perspectives of Engineering Materials and their real-life applications through numerous examples. Dr. Rishi B. Sharma, Scientist-F at DRDO, New Delhi was the Guest of Honour of the seminar. He delivered the keynote address to the participants of the seminar on the Emerging Trends in the Engineering Materials such as smart materials and nano materials and its application in engineering and technology.
The students of First year (II Sem) B.Tech.(MAE) of Amity University Madhya Pradesh delivered a number of well- researched presentations on the focus area with sub-themes in Functional Materials, Smart materials and Technologies, Nano Materials and their Applications, Bio-materials and Role of Nanotechnology in Engineering. Dhurv Bhanu Singh, Anupam Mishra, Sonu Pratap Sharma, Arvind Chakraborty presented a paper on Functional Materials. Lokesh Kumar, Sachin Kumar, Amit Chauhan, Dheeraj Kumar presented a paper on Smart materials and Technologies. Vinay Kumar, Subhash Kumar Singh, Suraj Singh, Jitendra Pratap Singh presented a paper on Nano Materials and their Applications. Sunny Kumar Singh, Ajay Singh Bhadoriya, Shubham Sharan, Prakhar Gupta presented a paper on Bio-materials. Tushar Bhardwaj, Pravin Tiwari, Abhishek Singh, Prateek Sahu presented a paper on Role of Nanotechnology in Engineering .The student presentations were formalized under the active guidance of Prof. D.L. Sapra, Head, MAE and Dr. Pankaj Mishra, Asst.Professor (Applied Physics). The programme was hosted by Ms. Devshree Sahasrabudhe and Mr. Deepak Kumar.
Participation certificates were distributed to all the speakers of the seminar by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, AU MP and the Chief Guest. The Dean(Academics), Dean (Research), Registrar, Director (Administration), Heads of Schools, faculty members, staff members and students of the university were present on the occasion. A vote of thanks was proposed by the convener of the programme, Prof (Dr.) Bikram K. Bahinipati. The event was highlighted by overwhelming participation by students and faculties of Amity University, which was organized in the packed auditorium of the university. The seminar ended with a standing ovation to the Chief Guest, student presenters and the organizers.
