In yet another stimulating and pathbreaking effort of Amity Institute of Corporate Communication (AICC) to bringout the best in students at Amity University, POETIKA,the Poetry competitionwas organised at Amity campus, Sector 125, Noida on August 26, 2014.
Theliterary event involved screening of many poems out of which 50 students wereselected. The event commenced with a motivational speech by Capt. H.A Arfi (IAS Retd.), Advisor AICCand Amity Institute of English Studies and Research.
Duringthe occasion, Prof. Kanwal Bawa Bhalla,Head, AICC and AIESR inspired the budding poets by instilling in them thedrive to bring out their inherent potential and capacity of literary geniuses.
Thepoems had varied themes which kept the audience spell bound by the immaculatecontent and meticulous delivery. Poems were all self composed and students weregiven an option to recite their creation in Hindi or English.
Thefirst prize in Hindi Segment was bagged by PiyushGoel from Amity School of Engineering and Technology, while Sakshi Sabharwal of Amity Law Schoolwon the second position. Pritha Suri ofAmity Law School and Anurag Goel of Amity School of Engineering and Technologyshared the third place. The budding poet to stood first in English Segment was Ankita Sabharwal from Amity Law School,the second prize was bagged by Rashmi ofAmity School of Engineering and Technology; while, the third position wasshared by Tanvi Nigam and Smriti Kohliof Amity Law School.
Theevent was attended by the students, faculty and staff of Amity University.
