Under the impeccable guidance of Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools, Amity, East Delhi organized 2nd Annual Science & Maths Exhibition ‘EUREKA’! from July 20 – July 21 , 2007 in the school premises wherein students from class-I to class-IX displayed their skills and creativity.
This magnificent exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Anuj Sinha, Advisor, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools.
Dr. Anuj Sinha, Advisor, Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, in his address stated “Innovation and ingenuity are two facets of growth. The quality effort of the teachers and students clearly reflected in the marvelous creativity of students in Science and Maths Exhibition. It is clearly evident from this exhibition the kind of brilliant and quality students Amity International Schools are churning out. The extensive canvass of the exhibition included almost all the contemporary issues which, no doubt, are excellent. Lauding the efforts of Amity he remarked, “In its quest for excellence, Amity endeavors to foster fresh thinking and constantly assesses and evaluates. With the innate belief that most creative and dynamic ideas already exist, Amity provides an opportunity to channelize, adapt and implement them”.
Dr. (Mrs) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools while emphasizing the importance of such exhibitions stated that these exhibitions provide the students with an opportunity to expel their creativity in a positive manner and showcase their natural talent. No one can be more observant and curious than a child. She further stated that if we build a scientific temperament, develop rational thinking and encourage a spirit of enquiry then there will be no looking back for Amitians.
The presentations on Real life Maths, Algebric Expressions, Algebraic identities, Bhaskar’s Proof of Pythagoras Theorem, Exponents and presentations on science based on the topics such as colours, food, solar system, science in the service of mankind ,water, Lights, plants and human physiology were commendable.
The inauguration was followed by prize distribution ceremony for the students of Class-II and Class-III for the academic session 2006-2007. The prizes were given under the categories of Star Performer, Amicable Personality, Overall Improvement, Full Attendance, Games, Best in English, Best in Hindi, Best in Maths, Best in Evs, Craft, General Knowledge, Computers and Arts.
