The Sixty Sixth Republic Day was celebrated in Amity University Gurgaon by the hostellers on 26 January 2015. The venue was hostel plaza area.


The function started with flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, Maj Gen Gurpal Singh Bal, DSW, Director Hostels & Security. It was accompanied with rendition of the National Anthem by choir group and supported by instrumental music. The chief guest then addressed the audience Laying Stress on Core Meaning and Values of Republicas enshrined in our constitution framed under Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He exhorted the students to overcome the crises of character plaguing the Nation by following the high ideals of our forefathers who fought for our freedom. This was then followed by One hour Cultural and Patriotic Program put up by the students. It began with Ganesh Vadana and consisted of:-


(a) Patriotic speeches in Hindi & English by Amity Students (boys and girls) with focus on meaning and ethos of the republic, our rights & duties.

(b) Patriotic speeches and poems recitation by young children of faculty. Speeches of tiny tots received overwhelming applause.

(c) Dances on patriotic songs by Students (hostellers).

(d) Dances by tiny tots on nationalism.

(e) Patriotic song singing by Students (boys and girls).
