In the present global economic scenario, advances in communications, network and security technology, are expected to contribute significantly towards national economic revival and its sustainability. Keeping this in mind as well as the perspectives of the present day researchers and industries, Amity School of Engineering and Technology, Amity University Madhya Pradesh organized a two days National Seminar titled " Advances in Computer Networks,Communication and Security” NSACCS-2015 at its campus on 26-27 February 2015.
Day-1: 26th February 2015 - The seminar was inaugurated on 26th February 2015 which was Chaired by Honorable Vice Chancellor Lt. Gen. V.K. Sharma AVSM (Retd.). The Guest of honour of the session was Prof. Dr. Navneet Goyal, a distinguished Professor from Birla Institute of Technology and Science , Pilani. The Seminar started with the opening remarks of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and he talked on various opportunities and challenges in the area of computer Networks,Communication and Security. On this occasion Professor Navneet Goyal from BITS Pilani delivered a key note address on Role of Big Data Analytics in Network and Communication”. In his talk, he gave an insight into the exciting world of BIG DATA. The speaker also provided the details of the work being carried out at the Advanced Data Analytics & Parallel Technologies (ADAPT) Lab. at BITS-Pilani, Pilani Campus. His talk was followed by the release of Book Abstracts in both print and electronic form by the dignitaries.After that Mr. Prafull Sarode,Chief Software Architect, ELCOM Innovations Pvt. Ltd., Noida delivered his invited talk on “Recent trends and opportunities in Embedded Systems”. In his presentation, he addressed various issues and future scope in embedded system Design. Next to speak was Professor K.V. Arya , Associate Prof. , ABV – IITM Gwalior on “ Network and Information Security ” . In his talk , he emphasized the urgent requirement to protect the information and its critical elements, including systems and hardware that use, store, and transmit that information. He also spoke about various attacking mechanisms such as Spoofing Attack, Denial of Service Attack, Distributed DoS Attack, Overflow Attack, Stack Smashing Attack, Code Injection Attack etc. Later Dr. W.Wilfred Godfrey Assistant Prof. ABV – IIITM Gwalior delivered his invited talk on “Robotics”. In his talk he elaborated on design and applications of Robots in various fields.
Day 2: 27th February 2015 - Second day of the National Seminar started with the presentation by Dr. Ravindra Singh , Scientist F , Divisional Head, DRDO Delhi on “Advances in Real Time Embedded Firm Ware Design and System on Chip Design” .In his talk, he emphasized on the system requirements through the C3 IM (Command, Control, Communication, Interfacing & Monitoring) and highly efficient computational requirements. This was followed by an invited talk delivered by Prof. M.M.Gore, from MNNIT Allahabad, on “Ethics and Cybernetics in Technology Education”.His talk was oriented towards the emphasis on importance of both ethics and cybernetics in Technological Education. It was followed by an invited talk delivered by Prof. Shashikala Tapaswi from ABV –IIITM Gwalior, on “Network Security”. She talked about the Importance of Network Security and related issues. She introduced new work on Honey trap technology used for network security.
Oral Presentation and Poster Sessions
The National Seminar was highlighted by overwhelming response of the participants through their contributions in Research Papers for Oral and Poster presentations. The review committee selected 15 quality papers for Oral Presentation and 30 papers were selected for presentations in Poster session.The Oral presentations session on day one (26 Feb) was chaired by Prof. Navneet Goyal and Co-chaired Mr. Prafull Sarode in Session-I of Oral Presentations and Session–II by Dr. Wilfred Godfrey .On day two (27 Feb), oral presentation Session-III was chaired by Prof. P.K. Singhal from Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior. Poster presentations were judged by Dr Ravindra Singh. The Best Paper for Oral Presentations was awarded to Anshul Sharma of B.Tech CSE VI Semester for his Papers entitled "Role of Augmented Reality in Education” . Best paper for Poster presentation was awarded to Pankaj Kumar of B.Tech ECE VI Semester for the paper entitled, "Making Web a Global Communication Space with Web Real-Time Communication (Web RTC).”
The valedictory ceremony for National Seminar on“Advances in Computer Networks, Communication and Security” was held on 27th February 2015. This session was chaired by Prof (Dr.) R.S.Tomar, Dean Academics, Amity University Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. Shahikala Tapaswi. A Brief Report of the Seminar was presented by Mr. Vivek Parashar , which was followed by the concluding remarks by the Chairman of the ceremony. The certificates were distributed to all the participants. The vote of thanks was proposed by the organizing secretary Prof. Bikram K. Bahinipati. Faculty members, students,participants and members from print and electronic media were present on the occasion.
