The orientation session at Amity Chennai was conducted over three days commencing from the 31 August to the 2 September, 2015 was both captivating and enriching. As per the traditions of Amity, all students, parents,faculties and staff participated in Havan to seek blessings from the God Almighty to mark the auspicious beginning of their professional journey. In the after noon, seeking blessings from the honorable, Founder President, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan; respected President, Dr. Atul Chauhan; Beloved, Sr. VP, Shri Ramchandran; both Dr. E. Ilamathian, Director, AGBS Chennai & Dr. S.Vengadamani, Dy. Director, AGBS Chennai, welcomed all students and parents tothe Amity Family.
Day 1:- 31 Aug 2015
Innovations and role of Managers: We had the pleasure of having Shri Purushothaman K., Regional Director at NASSCOM as the Chief Guest. His session kind led the interest of students as he spoke about the numerous opportunities created through innovations in technology and in the application of management practices. A management multi-media presentation on the modern day version of the Rabbit and Tortoise race was perceptive as it focused on the paradigm of collaborative management(win-win) and not of competition (win-lose). Mr. J. Ponraj, General Manager-Marketing at Savorit Limited India, with over 26 years of industrial experience in FMCG Industry, apt in formulating marketing and sales strategies and promotional plans, stressed upon the fact the challenges in the marketing of fast moving consumer goods and what core competences are needed to succeed in the dynamic and hyper competitive business environment. The session was inter active and thought provoking to the young minds who were excited of the opportunities and challenges that lay ahead in their careers.

Corporate Connect and Role-plays:- Shri Subhash Jagota, Sr. VP, Amity Education Group, shared his rich corporate experience of over three decades to the enthusiastic budding management professionals. There were business etiquette role plays for both the MBA and BBA first year students which made the interaction lively and memorable. He had emphasised on 15 success mantras, that included goal setting,social networking, S.W.O.T. analysis, etc. all this made the sessions not only motivational but witty as well.

Dressing Etiquette and Alumni Interaction :- People perceive you by the way you dress. By what you wear and how, students were made explained the importance of professional appearance to make the critical difference in the business world. Team building is a prerequisite to attain work goals in the current business scenario, this was demonstrated in form of management game by solving jig-saw puzzles with as many as 40 members. Interaction was brought alive by Mr. Mohnish R, Sales Manager Citibank, MBA (2011-13) and Mr. Joanny, MBA (2012-14) from Scope International. The session was rousing with Prof.Bala, placement cell coordinating the activity. This September 2015 was a memorable at Amity, Chennai. It was significant for various reasons.
This day the Amity seniors went out of their way to welcome the fresher’s with open arms and bonhomie so essential for breaking the ice on their first meeting.
