To promote the field of Fine Arts, Rangotsav 2007, an Inter-Amity Art Competition was held at Amity International School, Noida. A total of 316 Amitians from our seven sister schools partook in the contest for the artists from classes 1 to 12. Meanwhile, 48 participants were from the host school. This endeavour was an exclusive and novel brainchild of Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools.
The ‘arty affair’ had 10 diverse events ranging from On-the-Spot-Painting, Poster and Cartoon Making, Rangoli, Face Painting, Mural Making, Hand Pottery, Craft and Sculpture. Imaginative topics and themes dotted the day as the nimble fingers went creatively to work. The gamut of emotion that ran riot and took to vivid, but myriad pictorial expressions included, ‘The Girl Child,’ ‘My Vision of India in 2030’, ‘The Human Face’, ‘Freedom & Joy’, ‘Moods’, ‘Famous Politicians’, ‘Flowers’, ‘My Reflection’, ‘My Pet’, ‘Salsa Dance’, ‘Flying Things’, ‘Gods / Goddesses’, to name just a few. In brief, the whole day witness a unique symphony of colour painted on the “canvas of life”.
Prominent Judges judged the event including: Dr. Amargeet Chandok,(painter of the world’s largest painting of Mt. Everest and winner of Priyadarshani Indira Gandhi Award for lifetime achievement), Mr. Sanjay Bhatnagar (Post Graduate, Graphics, Baroda University and a Sahitya Kala Parishad Award winner), Ms. Bindulika Sharma, Reader, Jamia Milia University & winner of the MF Husain Award) amongst other well-known artists.
Dr. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools and Mrs. Divya Chauhan graced the event and gave out the prizes at the end of the day. Amity, Noida bagged the most prizes.
