Amity University UttarPradesh started a two day “Orientation Programme” for the Research Scholarsenrolled in various Doctoral Programmes with 41 Institutions of Amity NoidaCampus and Lucknow Campus at Amity University, Sector-125, Noida.
Like every year, thisyear also Amity received thousands of applications for PhD Programmes for thecurrent session but after several rounds of screening involving written testand personal interviews, 153 bright scholars were selected from Noida Campusand 27 from Lucknow Campus in over various domains including Anthropology,Agriculture, Management, Psychology, Biotechnology, Commerce, ClinicalPsychology, Education, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Forensic Sciences,Foods and Nutrition , Finance, Geo-Informatics and Remote Sensing ,Information Technology , Pharmaceutical Sciences , Law , Materials and Devices,Chemistry, Applied Chemistry ,English, Mathematics , Physics,Horticulture, Microbial Biotechnology , Neurosciences, Immunology , Virology,Wildlife Sciences, Physical Education, Built Environment, Mechanical andAutomation Engineering and Computer Science Engineering.
The Ceremony startedwith “Havan” which was attended by hundreds of Scholars, Directors,Institutional Heads, Faculty members and Staff Members followed with theblessings from Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Dr. Balvinder Shukla.
In her welcome address,Dr Balvinder Shukla said that “It is a tradition in Amity to start everynew academic session by invoking the blessings of Almighty”. She mentioned thatPhD is entirely an effort of the scholar; however, the supervision by theguides is also very important. Dr. Shukla remarked that PhD Scholars need towork very hard and a thorough Research in their area of subject would yieldthem good results. She pointed out that research is an integral part of thevision of Amity to make India a Knowledge Superpower in next 5 years. Shecalled upon the scholars to conduct highest quality of research withoutcompromising on rules and regulations.
