Padamshree and Arjuna awardee Col. Narender Kumar delivered lecture at Amity on the topic "Mountains of India and Managing Mountaineering Expeditions". Col. Narender Kumar is also the President of the Winter Games Federation of India

In his lecture Col. Narender Kumar with the help of Powerpoint slides showed the basic requirements needed for any mountaineering expedition. It includes the food, equipments, medical equipments. He also stressed on the importance of Sherpas in any expeditions as they are the locals and know the weather and terrain.

Col. Narender Kumar has scaled almost all mountains in India, Nepal, Bhutan like Nanda Devi, Kanchanjunga etc. His efforts were appreciated by Late Prime Minister Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru and King of Bhutan. Col Kumar was awarded with Padamshree for his dedication towards the mountaineering expeditions. He was also awarded Arjuna Puraskar for his life long efforts in the area of mountaineering. He is now the President of Winter Games Federation of India.
