Amity International School, Saket hosts the CBSE Heritage Quiz 2007

It was indeed a matter of pride and priviledge for Amity International School, Saket to host the prestigious Heritage India Quiz 07 - a foresight and initiative of the CBSE. The quiz unveiled the comprehensive rainbow of India's vibrant and vast culture and heritage.

In keeping with the futuristic vision of our Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan and Chairperson Dr. Amita Chauhan, Amity endeavours to imbue in the citizens of tomorrow, a fine blend of modernity and tradition. Revering and treasuring our past and delving into the depths of our glorious culture, are perennial values imparted at Amity.

The pre-finals of the quiz held on December 4 and December 5, 2007. It witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 12 school teams from all over the country. Mrs. Uma Shivaraman, Education Officer, CBSE made the occasion special with her presence.

Final round was held on December 6, 2007 in which DAV Public Schools, Bhubneshwar, Sri Kumaran Children;s Home, Bengalguru, DAV Public School, Patna and St. John's High School, Chandigarh. Mr. Ashok Ganguly, Chairman, CBSE graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his enlightening address, Mr. Ganguly appreciated the vibrant ambience created by Amity, served as indeed an enourmous platform for the occasion. He said to the students to reach high, reach out and reach beyond.

A galaxy of eminent personalities - Mr. Arun Kumar Rath, Secretary, Department of Education and Literacy, Goverment of India, Mr. Vineet Joshi, Secretary CBSE, Mr. Daniel Raju, added special glory to the occasion.

The erudite presence of Chairperson, Dr. Amita Chauhan, gave the morning a special significance and made the accolades memorable. Mrs. Bharati Sharma, Principal, AIS Saket, accorded a note of cordial welcome

The quizmasters - Kunal and Aditya lightned up the ambience with a sequence of extremely educative and interesting questions on our rich heritage.

The winning team - DAV Public School, Bhubneshwar was felicitated by the dignatories present. Each participants displayed a keen sense of Indianism, answering the volley of questions related to the cultural heritage of India.
