“Indo African International Training Program on “Quality Management of Tissue Culture Raised Plants” starts at Sir Richard Roberts Centre for Genetically Modified Organisms, Amity University

Sir Richard Roberts Centre for Genetically Modified Organisms, Amity University Uttar Pradesh in association with Biotech Consortium India Ltd. (BCIL) and Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) started“ Indo African International Training Program on “Quality Management of Tissue Culture Raised Plants” from 11 December to 14 December2017 at University Campus, Sector-125, Noida

45 African delegates from different countries are attending the Training Programme

Dr. Shiv Kant Shukla, DGM, BCIL and Dr V. K. Baranwal, Professor & Head, Plant Pathology Department from IARI, Dr. W. Selvamurthy, President Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation and Dr. Sunil Saran- Chairman, Amity Centre for Post Harvest Technology and Cold Chain Management inaugurated the Training programme.

Welcoming the distinguished participants, Dr. Susmita Shukla, Asst. Professor,AIB and Organizing Secretary for the Training Programme stated that the Training Programme will provide an opportunity to participants of networking with International Plant Tissue Culture Scientists, experts, Industries and Institutes and further Skill Development Programmes could be initiated in the future.

 

Various informative lectures will be delivered during the Training Programme including “Lecture: Recent advancement in Virus Indexing of tissue culture plants”, “Robust techniques virus detection” by Dr. Saritha, Scientist, IARI, “DNA based molecular markers and their application in crop improvement” by Dr. Deepshikha Pande Katare, Amity University, Noida, ''Imparting Awareness About Crop Improvement Strategies Through Plant Tissue Culture'' by Dr Roumi Deb, Additional Director, AIA, “Testing of Clonal Fidelity of tissue culture raised plants” by Dr. Amole K. Solanke, National Research Centre for Plant Biotechnology, New Delhi and “Opportunities and scope of Research in the area of Plant Tissue Culture” by Dr Susmita Shukla, Amity University, Noida
