9th International Congress of Environmental Research was organised by Amity Institute of Biotechnology, Amity University, Gwalior in association with Global Earth Society for Environmental Energy and Development, Bhopal. The International Congress started on 8th Feb 2018 with the registration of the participants, who had came from different parts of India and abroad such as Bulgaria, Finland,Malaysia, Iran, Israel.
The Congress started with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by Saraswati Vandana in the presence of Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Rao, Vice Chancellor, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior, special guest Dr. YaYah Ibrahim, Malaysia University along with Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V. K. Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), Prov-Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, Prof. (Dr.) R.S.Tomar (Convener of the Congress) and other dignitaries. During the inaugural session, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Amity University Gwalior emphasised on various aspects affecting environment and how to cope with current environmental hazards to make the environment sustainable. Afterwards, the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Rao, addressed the gathering and gave a broad spectrum scenario of environmental issues and climate change and impact on agricultural system in the Indian scenario. Among the dignitaries, the special guest Dr. YaYah Ibrahim, Malaysia University focused on different dimensions of cleanliness and its importance in sustainability of environment. During this session, the keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Sorvari, Aalto University, Environmental Engineering, Aalto, Finland on the topic ‘Sustainability assessment and indicators in environmental engineering’. She focused on three basic pillars of sustainable development namely environmental, economic and social issues and elaborated upon various indicators of assessment in these categories for assessment of sustainability.
The inaugural session concluded with the vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) R.S.Tomar (Convener, ICER-18), Director-AIB and Dean( Academics) AUMP.
Technical Session:I [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
Technical Session-I started along with two parallel sessions after the inaugural function TSS session was chaired by Dr. Manju Dube, consisting four oral presentations and one invited lecture on various topics of technology, social sciences, Law and management. Parallel Session I was based on physical sciences and life sciences that was chaired by Prof. Dr. Harish Vyas, Ujjain, consisting of eight oral presentations. After tea break, the second session started, consisting of ten oral presentations, was chaired by Dr. M.K. Kale.
Technical Session:II [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
Session II consisted of invited talk by Prof. Dr. Yahaya Ibrahim on the topic ‘Green Tourism: A Sustainable Environmental Management Practice In Borneo’ and invited talk by Dr. S.K. Bhatnagar, Gwalior on the topic ‘Carcinogenic Air Pollution-Causes, Consequences and Control’ where she deliberated on carcinogenic effect of air pollution and their mitigation strategies. The sessions were concluded with remarks by the chairperson of the respective session and votes of thank were proposed by respective co-ordinators.
(Day-2) [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS] Technical Session:III
The second day of 9th International Congress started with technical as well as poster session.Technical session (III) started with two parallel technical sessions namely, TSS and PLS. TSS session was chaired by Dr. Rajeev Mishra. This session observed three oral presentations and one invited lecture on various topics which include development of ecofriendly food crops, studies of biocontrol agents in Indian legal framework regulations especially for bio pesticides, social gender relationship and career maturity. The session concluded with the comments of chairperson followed by vote of thanks. The other parallel technical PLS was chaired by Dr.Ram lakhan Sikarwar, consisting of eight oral presentations on different topics of life sciences and physical sciences which included microbial studies,various environmental mitigation strategies and identification of nano-rods photo anode material for the production of hydrogen using solar water splitting system.
Technical Session:IV [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
Technical session (IV)TSS was chaired by Mr. Yahaya Ibrahim, Malaysia University, consisting of five oral presentations and one invited lecture by Prof. Kliment Naydenov, Bulgaria.Prof. Naydenov delivered an invited lecture on Tourism development in the context of circular economy (Circular tourism for sustainable economy and environment protect). This session was focused on environmental sustainability,development of Ships based on solar and tidal power energy to further add on economic sustainability in the energy sector. Another parallel session PLS was chaired by Dr. P.J. Parmar. This session included eleven oral presentations on diverse topics of environmental bio remediation, biodiversity and impact of industrial pollution on environment.
Poster Presentation and Exhibition-I In the morning session, poster presentations session was conducted which included 35 posters from different topics of life sciences,environmental issues, biodiversity, bio remediation strategies, effect of pollutants on living communities and energy sustainability.
Technical Session:V [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
Technical session V started along with two parallel sessions. TSS session was chaired by Dr. Ashok G. Matani, Amaravati and Prof. Singam Jayanthu delivered an invited lecture followed by three oral presentations in the field of green energy and disaster management. Another parallel session, PLS was chaired by Dr. Punit Saraswat in which Prof. Dr. Pushpa Agrawal gave invited lecture which ws followed by six oral presentations in the area of life sciences and physical sciences.
Technical Session:VI [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
After evening tea break, technical session VI started along with two parallel sessions. TSS session was chaired by Dr. Shivaji Sangle and Prof. Vijay Anand Moholkar delivered an invited lecture on ‘Physical mechanism of ultrasound assisted synthesis of bio diesel with homogenous and heterogenous catalysts followed by three oral presentations in the field of social awareness, smart sensors and environmental tourism for sustainable development. Another parallel session, PLS was chaired by Dr. Madhu Lakshmi Sharma in which Prof. Dr. Ali Asghar Jafarzadeh delivered an invited lecture on the topic ‘ Urmia lake restoration need environmental chain management’ followed by six oral presentations in the area of life sciences and physical sciences. The sessions were concluded with remarks by the chairperson of the respective session and the vote of thanks were proposed by respective co-ordinators.
(Day-3) Technical Session:VI [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
The third day of 9th International Congress started with technical session as well as poster session. Technical session (III) started with two parallel technical sessions namely,TSS and PLS. The PLS technical was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Singh Tomar, AUMP, Gwalior, consisting of seven oral presentations and one invited lecture.Invited lecture was presented by Dr. A. Viyas. (Ujjain). The session witnessed contributory lectures on different topics of life sciences and physical sciences which included the description of liquid waste management, development of gas sensor, Studies on Bio degradation of Anthracene and Naphthalene by bacteria. TSS Session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Anish C. Pandey, Gwalior consisting of three oral presentations and one invited lecture by Dr. Renga Rao Krishnamoorthy, Selangor (Malaysia) on various topics which included ‘study the gender differences in parent child relationship in late childhood’, flood risk management in Bulgaria along with Law and environment.
Technical Session: VIII [Parallel Sessions; TSS and PLS]
Technical session(VIII) TSS was chaired by Prof. S.C. Pandey consisting of four oral presentations. This session was focused on the description of socio-economic and environmental perspectives of metro rail commuters of Bengaluru city, study to extract association rule between rainfall and climatic indices using data mining technique, sustainable development of present education system and Utilization of Wheat Stubble in Building Construction.
Parallel session PLS was chaired by Prof. Dr. B. M. Kulshrestha, Gwalior. This session included a total of thirteen oral presentations on diverse topics of hydro geological studies, Determination of chromium degradation potential of selected bacterialisolates, phyto-chemical investigations, the role of forest type on soil evolution and revitalization, efficiency and potency of cyanobacterialisolates, Phosphate solubilization potential of endophytic fungi, Impact of biomedical waste on Gwalior city, Outbreak of new H5N8 viral strain in Gandhi zoological park in Gwalior, Seasonal dynamics of soil exchangeable cations and Prevalence and Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Nasal Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus in Anganwaries Children in Ujjain (M.P.). The sessions were concluded with remarks by the chairperson of the respective session and votes of thank were proposed by respective co-ordinators.
The Valedictory and Award Ceremony session was held in the post lunch session. The Chief Guest of the Valedictory Session was Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AUMP, Gwalior. He was felicitated by Convener of the International Congress Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Tomar. The closing remarks of this International Congress were proposed by Prof. (Dr.) M. P. Kaushik, followed by the prize distribution by the dignitaries. After the conference summary, vote of thanks was proposed by the Convener of the International Congress (ICER-18) Prof. (Dr.) R.S. Tomar, Director (AIB) & Dean Academics, Amity University, Gwalior. Indian and foreign delegates as also the participants expressed their satisfaction regarding the theme and topics covered and also the excellent hospitality extended by AUMP.
