Annual Training Camp of Amity Cadet Corps concluded at Amity Education Valley, Manesar

“Having realized the need for introduction of a formal capsule in character building and instilling a sense of discipline amongst the young students of the Amity International Schools, the Founder President, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, has started a unique venture by way of the Amity Cadet Corps which is run on the lines of the National Cadet Corps.

Students of class VII & VIII at the Amity International Schools located at Sector 43 & 46, Gurgaon have been enrolled as cadets in the Amity Cadet Corps. 82 Boy Cadets from these two schools are currently attending their Annual Training Camp in the Amity Education Valley, Manesar. On the penultimate day off the Training Camp, a ceremonial Parade was organized at which the Founder President of Amity, Dr Ashok K Chauhan took the salute. Commandant of the Amity Cadet Corps, Col. N.R. Khambatta administrated the “Cadets Pledge” to all the Cadets.

On this occasion, 5/1 Gorkha Rifles, an Army Unit which is preparing to go on a UN Mission to Sudan gave a demonstration on ‘Bayonet Fighting’. They also organize a band display and laid out Infantry weapons to motivate the young cadets. Another highlight of the day was an excellent demonstration organized by the Amity Dog Unit which is training dogs for security related tasks.

“The function was also graced by Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson of the Amity International Schools, Lt Gen BK Bopanna, Director General Amity Indian Military Education Society, Brig SK Bahl, Commandant Amity Indian Military College and a large number of senior academicians from the Amity Institutions”.
