Amity University Jharkhand, 08/05/2018: The trip to Jharkhand Space Application Centre, Ranchi made on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 by students of MCA and BCA was an excellent opportunity. The session was divided into two parts, one focusing on the applications of GIS and Remote Sensing that was delivered by Dr. Neeraj Kumar Sharma while the second part was delivered by Mr. Rajesh Rawani, Head Programmer from Computer Division. It showed IT as a tool that seamlessly joined satellite communication to the browsers on the client’s machine. He discussed the different aspects of IT that was being used to implement the applications for e-governance. The applications aimed for a digital Jharkhand that not only improved, simplified and quickened all government undertaken jobs but also focused on eradicating corruption at the earliest even at the grassroots level. The roles that IT play cannot be deemed second either. All the theory that our students only found in books and notes till date, covering network concepts, database administration, image processing, website building languages, open source software and many others, was actually evident in the work done by the department.
