Amity University Jharkhand, 13/03/2018: To uphold a transparent vision regarding the Indian Tax regime, Amity University Jharkhand today, 13th March 2018, arranged a Guest lecture with the enlightened presence of Mr. Sanjay Prasad, Commissioner of Income Tax & Former Associated member 14th Finance Commission on ‘Federal Finances: Indian Perspective’. While addressing the students gathered, Mr. Prasad melted the dry subject like taxation and brought in daily references for easy grasping.
Referring to Benjamin Franklin, Mr. Prasad averred, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain except death and taxes” and made it clear that how each Indian needs to know the way of paying the tax for ubiquitous development of the Nation. The importance of traditional Indian taxation system with specific mention of‘ Kautilya’ and his policies rippled through his delivery. The continuous elaboration of taxation system in Indian constitution made it much effective.
The Director of the Amity University Jharkhand, Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Kr Pandey from his capacity of being a Scholar in Economics dealt with taxation in certain technical and theoretical understandings, prominently alluding to vertical and horizontal imbalance. Hon. Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Raman Kr. Jha addressed the gathering and encouraged the students to participate in such endeavors in more numbers.
