Tocommemorate the Independence Day week celebrations, Amity InternationalBusiness School commenced ‘Motivational Lecture Series’ and as part of theseries, Shri Bishan Singh Bedi, the former Captain of Indian Cricket teamdelivered a motivational talk on “Successful Mantras of Life” at AmityUniversity, Sector 125 Noida
Welcomingthe gathering, Dr. (Prof.) Gurinder Singh, Group Vice Chancellor, Amitysaid, “it is one of the momentous occasion wherein the great icon and cricketlegend - who had captained Indian Cricket Team has come to Amity to share hislife experiences with the students.” Dr. Singh apprised that the words of wisdomby eminent leaders like Shri Bishan Singh Bedi will help our students in longrun and the experience shared by Shri Bedi will inspire the youth to follow thepath of success with utmost commitment, dedication and perseverance.
Addressingthe gathering, Shri Bishan Singh Bedi said that since independence in1947, Indian Education system has grown tremendously. Rise in literacy rate hasnot only led to significant economic development but has made people realizethat education is also important to attain freedom, in every sense. He opinedthat it is necessary for people to acquire a sense of mental independence whichis only possible through education. He shared that the sole mantra to achievesuccess by self-independence and self- reliance. Mr. Bedi called upon thestudents to grow as an individual during their academic time and imbibe theability of being decisive, which will help them to be a great leader in future.
Heaverred that people should realize that money is not success since success isnot only about reaching your goal but also the amount of passion and madnessone had throughout its journey. He asked the students to follow philosophy ofworking passion built on the foundation of satisfaction, which keeps a persongrounded.
Whilesharing his views on the political scenario of India, Mr. Bedi remarked thatyouth are the future of Country and the power of youth can lead the nationtowards towering heights. He stressed that our nation has produced greatleaders and politicians but no political party should consider oneself biggerthan the Country. He advised the students to take inspiration from greatleaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru and Sardar Patel and furtherpledge to be part of the commitment to fulfill their duty and responsibilitiestowards the nation.
Thelecture was attended by thousands of students and faculty members of AmityUniversity
