The orientation session at Amity Global Business School,Chennai was conducted over two days commencing from the 28 August to the 29 August, 2018 was both captivating and enriching. Seeking blessings from our Honorable Founder President Sir, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan ,Respected President Sir, Dr. Atul Chauhan and our beloved Sr. Vice President Sir, Shri. U Ramchandran; the Deputy Director AGBS Chennai, Dr. S. Vengadamani,extended a warm and cordial welcome to new students to joining Amity family.
The Chief Guest was a distinguished corporate personality- Mr. PV Vasantha kumar having an experience of 30 years in developing strategic policies for human resources development and industrial employeerelations aligned to business goals. Presently the Chief Human Resource Officer of AVT Group of companies that is diversified in tea, coffee and rubber plantations, consumer products, trading, leather and allied products, nutraceuticals and ready to eat food divisions. The Chief Guest on day two , N.Iniakrishnan ,possessing a rich experience of 27 years in HR who has successfully initiatedand completed challenging assignments in diverse fields that include realty, manufacturing,hospitality, health care, retail, education, IT, Financial services, Construction etc.Currently he is the Regional Head–L&T Realty.
His interactive session focussed on his sharing his personal experiences, he stressed that it is imperative to understand the marketing environmental factors, to build on skill sets and don’t give up! You should not to be constrained in your job description but to add value to business development.You have to take initiative!! One must be ready to unlearn and relearn processesas different firms have different quality and strategic paradigms. The orientation session presented an overview of the leading Amity Educationa lGroup. It is the virtues of Self-discipline, self-control that would enable thestudents to attain perfection this was highlighted by Dr. Vengadamani, Deputy Director in an emphatic manner.
Mr.PV Vasanthakumar highlighted that present day education is easier just press abutton and you access information.The current Gen Y has more advantages due totechnology advancement. Leadership quality should be must in all students wanting to get into the corporate world. He stressed there are people who usedto work for 2-3 years and come back for their MBA studies and this is a current trend.

The next session was presented by Prof. Srikant Kapoor on anti- ragging measures inplace at Amity. The afternoon session had a practical orientation by Dr. Sailakshmi,senior psychologist, Satva Manas as the young students had to answer psychometric testing based on personality and attitudes. This gave a valuable insight to all the students about their potential strengths and areas forimprovement. Next was the much awaited alumina meet gives the opportunity for the fresher’s to interact with Amity passed out students, we had Ms. MC Harini (MBA-2014-16)batch, Regional Manager, IDFC Bank. Harini shared her wonderful experiences at AGBS and also made the audienceaware on corporate expectations in today’s scenario.
Thus the orientation sessions not only kindled the interest of students but have also motivated them to learn the art and science of management that can thenbe applied in the real corporate world.
