Deliberations, interactions, felicitations and cultural evenings is what Amity Business School is buzzing with during the fourth annual Management Festival and Research Conference “Endeavor’ 08” which started today at Amity University. The three day management festival on the theme of “Transforming Business in the globalized economy” includes a series of activities such as inter- institute management competitions, entrepreneurial research and business competitions, felicitation of corporate honchos, corporate sessions and cultural performances.

Welcoming the august gathering and taking about the aptness of the theme of the management festival, Dr. Balvinder Shukla- DG, Amity Business School said that India is a country rich in traditions and culture. It has given birth to unparallel educational institutions like Takshila and the oldest medical therapy “Ayurveda” saw its birth and evolution in India. But gradually the sheen of the country has waned. Globalisation has posed numerous challenges to India, which is competing in the domestic sphere as well as international arena. Talking about the issues haunting the India Inc., she said that India needs to revamp its education sector to combat the crunch of trained manpower, government policies should act as facilitator rather than being stringent and regulatory and partnerships between public and private enterprises should be encouraged and increased.
Speaking on the occasion, Maj. Gen. K Jai Singh-VC, Amity University remarked that although India is making waves in world’s economy but how long India can blow this trumpet and overlook what ails its economy. It has been lacking in self discipline and self esteem. He suggested that in the wake of globalization, India should not leave its grassroots and should develop as a wholesome nation.
The inauguration was followed by the presentation of Amity Leadership Awards to the corporate stalwarts for their significant contribution towards the growth and development of the country.
