On 16th February 2008, Amity International School, Noida held NITRYASANGAM, the annual Sports Day for the students of Classes 1 & 2. Chief Guest, Sh. Shravan Kumar Sharma,IAS, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar was the Chief Guest. Sh. Sharma lit the ceremonial lamp while the School Choir sang Sholkas to invoke the blessings of the Almighty God. Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, RBEF, and Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools, graced the occasion, along with other foremost members of the Chauhan family.
In her Welcome Address, Principal, Mrs. Mohina Dar stated, "Dance is a symbol of harmony between earth and sky, between body and spirit and between man and fellow man. Our innate energy vibrates in unity with our wellness and dance as a medium instructs and motivates our little ones to achieve perfection in their every action." She also elaborated upon the beneficial aspects of using dance during "holistic therapy". Meanwhile, the comperes, the vivacious cheerleaders and scintillating commentary added spice to an invigorating day.
The Sports Meet commenced with Sh. Sharma releasing the pigeons and balloons that sauntered into the azure skies. The spirits ascended as the Amitians stood ready to showcase their harmonious union of minds and bodies. And what a show it was!! Races such as "Aam He Marathi", "Satrangi Daud", "Krishna Leela" and "Nachte Mor" served as a platform to showcase India, a "cultural paradise". The "Maypole Dance" and "Dragon Dance" exhibited the breath-taking diversity of dance as the "ultimate and universal means of communication". "Vyayam" (rhythmic yoga), gymnastics and karate displays transformed life's force into greater "inner" power. Meanwhile, "Doordashita" unfurled a fusion of four unique dance forms-- Salsa, Sambhalpuri, Arabian and African as being a delicate form of "mind-body energetic", hence; fulfilling the purpose of dance as to educate, enlighten and entertain. The Grande Finale-- "Jeevan Ke Path Par Chalente Jayen", symbolized life as a journey of self-development, awareness and soul-searching, where one "Human World" would solve the problems of mankind thereby, fulfilling an important aspect of education.
Chief Guest, Sh. Shravan Kumar Sharma, D.M., Gautam Budh Nagar appreciated the colourful extravaganza and urged the children to work for the progress of the Nation.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, RBEF, urged the Amitians to tread the path of excellence by facing challenges, commitment, competition and competence at all time.
