Amity University Organizes “BIOTREX 2018” - A Science Fest
“Vigyan se Vikas”- drawing inspiration from the vision of a new India as envisioned by Govt. of India, Amity Institute of Biotechnology organized a Science Fest entitled "BIOTREX 2018", at Amity University Jharkhand. “BIOTREX” is a medium to attract young minds to the interesting field of science and to promote a networking of stakeholders working towards the propagation of science.
The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. S. B Chowdhury, Senior Scientist, and Centre -in-charge, National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resource ICAR, said, Science and its approach should be in our thought but our expressions and presentations have to have the flare of Arts as well. Nature has everything in abundance, but its best use should be guided by the wisdom of maintaining the same for future generations. The preservation of Bio-diversity and its maintenance and evolution can be understood and analyzed using Bio-Technology. Biotechnology uses the existing data and experiment to impact the evolutionary process artificially by its full understanding. Prof.(Dr) Raman Kumar Jha, Vice-Chancellor Amity University Jharkhand, said that “BIOTREX”, as an event is an opportunity to experiment the developments already in place, and the future directions possible in this field from the expert of the field.
Prof.(Dr) Ajit Kumar Pandey, Director, Amity University Jharkhand and Mr. Prabhakar Tripathy, Registrar, Amity University Jharkhand also graced the event with their presence.
The fest comprised of several competitions such as Bio-detectives, Equizzitt, Exhibition, Xclick, and Bio Rangoli. Students from Amity University Jharkhand as well as Jawahar Vidya Mandir School, Shyamli also participated in the fest. The two-day event will conclude on 21st November 2018.
