Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism organized a concluding ceremony for the students of MA in Tourism Administration of 2006- 08 batch.
Welcoming the august gathering, Prof. (Dr.) Manohar Sajnani- Director, Amity Institute of Travel and Tourism presented a brief overview of the pedagogy followed at the institute, achievements of the students, and the companies or organizations where the students have been absorbed even before they completed their course.
Blessing the students at the ceremony, the Chief Guest, Sh. Vijay Chadha- CEO, TUI AG thanked Amity for introducing the discipline of Travel and Tourism as a full fledged course in the university because there is a dire need of professionals in this industry. Dwelling on some important figures, he said that tourism industry is the second largest industry in the world and contributes 10% annually to the GDP. It is estimated that by 2020 India would have over 50 million outbound travelers making this industry rewarding and attractive for young professionals. He called upon the students to harness their potential in the right way, adhere to their value system and make the best of the learning they have acquired by their teachers and institute.
Wishing the students success in their future endeavors, Prof. (Dr.) Raj Singh- Pro VC, Amity University advised them to keep themselves abreast with the latest technology in the industry and count on the fundamentals of a discipline whenever they are face a trouble in arriving at a decision. He called upon the students to move ahead in their life with confidence and conviction and always aim for excellence rather then perfection in their lives. He urged the students to be ethical in their dealings and take the name of their institution higher and higher in the industry.
During the ceremony, some of the students shared their experiences in the companies they are working with and extended their gratitude to the director, faculty members and the institute for easing their entry into the tourism sector.
The distinguished guests gave away the provisional certificates, various awards and prizes to the students for their achievements in academic and extra curricular activities.
