AMITY UNIVERSITY AND CINVESTAV, MEXICO SIGN MoU FOR SCIENTIFIC LINKAGES

Amity University and CINVESTAV (The Centro De Investigacion Y De Estudios Avanzados Del IPN), Mexico have entered into an alliance and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for promoting scientific and cultural developments of Mexican and Indian communities. The MOU was signed by Maj. Gen. K Jai Singh- Vice Chancellor, Amity University and Dr. Jose Pablo Rene Asomoza- Director General, CINVESTAV who visited the university and met the directors and senior officials of Amity.

CINVESTAV is akin to CSIR in India and is a Government research center in Mexico with more than 600 top-notch research scientists from round the world involved in research in cutting edge technologies and sciences.

Welcoming the tie-up, Maj. Gen. K Jai Singh- Vice Chancellor, Amity University commented that the collaboration would be rewarding for both the organizations and both the countries. Talking about the alliance, he said that the MoU would facilitate both the countries to utilize and manage the available resources optimally and efficiently in the areas of mutual interests such as sustainable energy, ICT- Robotics, Biomedical Engineering and Educational Science. He extended his gratitude to CINVESTAV for offering collaborative research opportunities to the students of Amity, which would include scholarships and fee concessions.

Dr. Jose Pablo Rene Asomoza- Director General, CINVESTAV lauded the professional education Amity is providing to the youth of the country and commented that the MoU signed would mark an important milestone in the history of Amity and CINVESTAV. He remarked that India has a lot of potential in terms of education and wished the collaboration to be sustainable and productive.

Researchers and scientists from both the organizations were identified against each area of research specified in MoU. The areas of cooperation identified in MoU included exchange of graduate and post graduate students and researchers, exchange of mutual experiences in teaching, research and industrial experiences and to develop or propose new projects, studies and reports.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials and directors of Amity Universe including Dr. Sunil Saran –Vice Chairman, Amity Science, Technology and Innovation Foundation; Prof. (Dr.) Gurinder Singh- Pro VC (I), Amity University; Lt. Gen. P. D. Bhargava- Director General, Amity Institute of Telecom Technology; Dr AK Srivastava- Director, Amity Institute of Biotechnology and Dr R P Singh- Director, Amity Institute of Nanotechnology
