Payal Mathur, Class IX student of Amity International School, Noida performs for continous 24 hours for Limca Book of Records

Payal Mathur, a Class IX student of Amity International School, is setting the stage ablaze with her record breaking Kathak performance for continuous 24 hours from 6:00 am on July 14 to 6:00 am on July 15, 2008 at D Block Auditorium, Amity Campus, Sector-44, Noida.

The little challenger, with the blessings of living legends such as Pt. Birju Maharaj, Ustad Iqbal Ahmad Khan, is all geared up to carve her name in the prestigious Limca Book of Records (LBR). This is the first time in entire Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR that such a young student is performing for continuous 24 hours. After doing the holy archana at 5:45 am, Payal started her record breaking stint from 6:00 am onwards. Kathak exponents and her Gurus Nalini and Kamalini ji were present from the beginning to encourage her in winning this record. Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools, Ms. Mohina Dar, Principal, Amity International School, Noida were also present to motivate her.

On this occasion Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools lauded her efforts and said that Amity International School is always ahead in nurturing the talent. Our students are toppers in education field and are creating names in Chess, Karate, Football, Animation films etc. Speaking about this spectacular record breaking event, Dr. (Mrs.) Chauhan echoed that being blessed by Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pandit Jitendera Prasad, Ustaad Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Payal is bound to become a famous danseuse and will certainly get entry in Limca Book of Records.

Ms. Mohina Dar, Principal, Amity International School, Noida said that Payal is a brilliant student and her inclination towards dance has mesmerized all of us. We always promote these extra curricular activities so that a child can have overall mental and physical development. Ms. Dar said that Payal will definitely achieve the Limca Record and hopes that she will excel new heights in Kathak dance.

Ms. Payal Mathur, Amity International School Noida student and Limca Book of Record seeker said that she is very excited for her performance and wants to complete the record breaking 24 hours performance. She said that for Kathak, one has to practice rigorously and patiently. She said for this event she had got full support from her parents, teachers, Principal. Payal expressed her gratitude to her class teachers who have helped her manage a balance between her studies and dance practice.

The young danseuse Payal started learning dance in Hong Kong, when she was just 5 year old. Her formal Kathak Shiksha began two year ago with Kathak Kendra, the premium Kathak Institute of India.

Apart from dancing, Payal has many more artistic interests. She is a good painter, an approved drama voice for All India Radio and has anchored many shows on television.
