Enthusiasm, vibrancy, exhilaration, euphoria and power packed action engulfed Amity School of Business (ASB) as it kick started its two day management cum cultural festival “ AURA” at Amity University, Sector- 125, Noida. “AURA”, an annual management festival of Amity School of Business, is a novel and grand platform where future leaders of the industry meet to discuss, share, compete and learn. The theme of this year’s AURA- “Plutus in Absentia, the accession of the frazzled economy” aptly addresses the turbulent times faced by the countries worldwide in the wake of recession.
Welcoming the august gathering, Prof. Alka Munjal- Director, Amity School of Business apprised the audience with the panorama of management and cultural events that will take place during the two day festival including management games, dramatics, quiz, fashion show, western dance, rock competition etc. She congratulated all the participating teams including Christ College, Bangalore, SDM College, Mangalore, Delhi College of Engineering, Gargi College, Kamla Nehru College, IMT, Ghaziabad, Hindu College and SRCC and motivated them to give their best shot in the competitive events during the fest.
Expressing his delight on inaugurating a management festival of such a grand stature, Former International Cricketer, Mr. Kirti Azad shared some important anecdotes and instance from his life and outlined the mantras of success. He urged the students to cultivate self confidence in them, which will help them stand in good stead throughout their lives. He motivated the students to always count on their diligence and hard work, not on luck for attaining success. “Ups and downs are bound to come in one’s life but one should not be bogged down and should learn to tame and master one’s mind”, asserted Mr. Azad. He implored the students to persistently follow 4 D’s in their life namely DESIRE, DETERMINATION, DEDICATION and DISCIPLINE, which will help them climb higher and higher in their personal as well as professional lives.
Emphasizing the importance of the word “AURA”, Maj. Gen. K J Singh- Vice Chancellor, Amity University asserted that the management festival, as the name suggests, will usher an aura of prosperity and abundance to Amity as well as the entire nation. Talking about the prevailing corruption, nepotism and erosion of culture and values in society, he called upon the students to put in their wholehearted efforts and direct their thoughts in such a way that the coming generations get a better place to live.
Also, present during the inauguration was Mr. Nickky Bhagnani- Executive Producer of the upcoming film “Kal Kisne Dekha”.
During the day several events took place including “ Copia’s Wrath- Management Game (Finance)”, “ Dark Sun-Management Game (HR), “ Chanakya- Management Game (Strategy), “The Rider of the Trojan Horse- Best Manager Competition”, “ Kurukshetra- Quiz” and “Bail Out- Dramatics”.
During the evening participants from different colleges sashayed on the dazzling ramp showcasing their ingenuity and creativity.
Second day will start with the stars of movie "Kal Kisne Dekha” comprising veteran actor Mr. Rishi Kapoor, Mr.Jackie Bhagnani and Ms. Vaishali interacting with the students at 11 am to be followed by the finals of management games, debate etc. The famous group “ ARYAN” will perform live during the evening from 6 pm onwards.
