Amity University Lucknow Campus organises Young Leaders 09

Amity University Lucknow Campus organized Young Leaders’ 09 program for students. The basic aim of the program was to reiterate our commitment to quality education and preparing global leaders along with building leadership qualities through various activities and modules that were held at the Amity University, Lucknow campus, spread over 40 acres of sprawling hi-tech area with around 5,000 students in fourteen different disciplines.

Young Leaders’ 09 was a residential 3 days program organized from 3rd to 5th June, 2009. The major activities included enhancement of leadership qualities, team spirit development through games, cultural competitions, outdoor activities like hot air ballooning, para sailing etc.

The participants of this program were students with a strong academic background (Toppers and 90% and above students in Class X Boards, from all streams with 100% attendance record.) Various schools from all over Uttar Pradesh were part of this innovative program. 11 students from Boys’ High School and College, Allahabad, 13 from St Joseph’s School Convent School Varanasi, 8 from Seth Anand Ram Jaipuria School, Kanpur and 10 students from U.P. Sainik School, Lucknow were the enthusiastic participants. The program had participation of boys as well as girls.

The three day program was full of action packed events that not only challenged the minds of the students but also provided an opportunity to channelize their physical energy to the optimum.

The event opened with an introduction and briefing by Maj Gen K K Ohri, AVSM (Retd), Director General of Amity University, Lucknow Campus. During the 3 days the students were involved in various activities like Ice Breaking Session, Quiz competition, movie and presentation on Biotechnology, Psychometric Profiling, Painting, Slogan Writing, Essay Competition, Cybernaut (Mind challenging game), Model Making, Debate.

The event had innovative challenges like ‘Cre ate Your Country: India of my Dreams’, Ad-renaline, ‘Get Radiogenic’ and many more. Adventure activities were incorporated in the program to make it a wholesome event like Obstacle Course, Treasure Hunt, Hot Air Ballooning etc.

The fun quotient in the program was brought in by a fun-filled afternoon at Anandi Water Park, ‘Jalwa’ a music and dance competition, Talent Hunt, Antakshari and Fashion Icon etc. Students also participated in various outdoor and indoor games.

There was an interaction of the students with renowned career counselor, Dr Amrita Dass, who answered queries related to their careers.

Young Leaders’ 09 program concluded with a cake cutting ceremony. The participants also shared their experiences during the three days at Amity University, Lucknow Campus which was followed by a prize distribution ceremony.
