Amity University and Deakin University, Australia signed a general MoU at Amity Campus, Noida. This signing of MoU is the result of both the Universities desire for working in a spirit of cooperation to establish an academic link between the two institutions, with particular emphasis on Academic Collaboration, Academic Staff Exchange and Opportunities for Articulation and Advanced Standing.
The MoU was signed by the Pro Vice Chancellor - Mr. Eric Meadows and Chancellor - Mr. Atul Chauhan on behalf of Deakin and Amity University respectively. The Amity collaborative model provides the framework for the student to get world class education, the student studies partly in India and partly abroad to get an international degree. This not only enables a great saving in costs, but also provides the student for a much valued exposure to a foreign land, people, culture and ethos enabling him to prepare for the global challenges. These international collaborative programmes are designed to bring students closer to the frontiers of knowledge in their specialist area of management or engineering and to prepare them for positions that will require research skills or advanced specialist knowledge in particular areas, and provide a pathway to doctoral research.
The Universities would be cooperating to develop and carry out collaborative activities in areas such as –academic staff cooperation on collaborative research; lectures and conferences in the area of communication and creative arts; general academic collaboration including the exchange of educational resource materials and publications that are of mutual interest; staff exchange in fields of specific interest to both institutions; student exchange programs in fields of specific interest to both institutions.
MoU emphasizes on the development of Study Abroad programs at Deakin for students of Amity and Study Abroad programs at Amity for Deakin students. It states the provision of on-campus programs at Deakin for students of Amity on a fee paying basis. There would be Internship Planning in order to facilitate internships for Amity exchange students besides cooperation between both the Universities on the exchange and exhibition of student work.
Amity already has Tie-ups with several International Universities like the Purdue University – Calumet, University of East London (UEL) – UK, City University – London, University of Abertay, Dundee – Scotland, The University of West of England - Bristol, U.K and University of Waikato - New Zealand.
