Amity Business School and Amity Institute of Education and Training (AIET) for Defence Forces and Police Forces have been conducting short term courses for Defence Personnel in order to brace them for a second career after retirement. Second batch of 24 Weeks Business Management Certificate Course for Officers of the Defence Forces begins at Amity University from October 5, 2009. So far over 200 Officers have attended various resettlement courses at various Amity Institutions.
The course is being sponsored by the Directorate General Resettlement and the course prepares the officers for their second innings after retirement and is very popular amongst the Officers as it prepares them for the numerous opportunities available in the corporate world.
Gp Capt R Venkataramanan, Director Training, Directorate General of Resettlement, the Guest of Honour motivated the participants to make the best of their time at Amity. Gp Capt R Venkataramanan said that current strength of Amity in the many streams available at the campus will broaden the horizon and provide techniques in bracing up to the challenges in the corporate world. The service of the Defence Personnel who retire early are in great demand in the industry due to their rich and varied experience.
In his message, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF)conveyed that rich experience, expertise and knowledge gained through very valuable training while serving the defence forces, coupled with the academic knowledge and development of all-round expertise while undergoing this course at Amity, the officers through their sincere and dedicated services would contribute greatly for the development of the nation in whatever organisation they would go.
Expressing his admiration and gratitude to the Defence Personnel, Maj Gen K.J. Singh, Vice Chancellor, Amity University felt that defence personnel make immense sacrifices for the service of the country and when they retire at a young age of 35-45 years, they need second career option to rely upon. All they need is a certification of the knowledge which Amity, by offering various career transition courses, will facilitate.
