After its protracted efforts during the last one year, AITTM has succeeded in getting itself enlisted with Recruiting Directorate – Army HQ, for yearly induction of its B.Tech Electronics and Telecommunication students for Indian Army’s University Entry Scheme. Under this scheme, students who are selected by the Service Selection Board (SSB), start getting stipend on Rupees Fifteen Thousand per month, while they are studying in B.Tech Final Year.
A team from Indian Army visited AITTM to conduct pre-selection for Service Selection Board (SSB) under University Entry Scheme (UES) on 12 October 2009. All students of Third & Fourth Year B.Tech Electronics & Communications attended thee presentation. The team from Indian Army was headed by Col. Sudera. They shared with the students, a presentation titled ‘Life in Olive Green’, which gave the students a detailed perspective about various aspects of life in the India Army – the roles, responsibilities, career progression, work-life balance, emoluments, selection procedure etc. The presentation was followed by a Q&A Session where the representatives from Army answered the queries of the students.
Eighteen students from Third Year and eight students from Fourth Year appeared for the interview. During the interview, students were quizzed on several topics like technical knowledge, current affairs, personal traits etc. Short-listed students will appear for SSB Interview. If selected, they will be assured of a job in the Indian Army, while they are still studying
