On morning of 22nd September 09 (Tuesday) Mr. Amit Chawla along with 48 students of MJMC 1st semester started on a 3-day Photography excursion trip (as per the prescribed syllabi of MJMC) covering different locations of Delhi. The group started their excursion from the national zoological park photographing the animals, landscape and nature. Post lunch they visited the Old Fort for some monumental & nature photography. The next day i.e. 23rd September 09 (Wednesday), the group visited in famous Red Fort of Old Delhi photographing the markets, people and architecture. 24th morning the group visited the Qutab Minar for taking photographs of landscapes, architecture and monuments.
To compliment the field visit, students were also taken to an exhibition by famous photographer & film-maker, Mr. Benoy Behl. This exhibition on ancient monasteries of India & Tibet at Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA), Mansingh Road, Delhi was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of State External Affairs, Dr. Shashi Tharoor. Being impressed by keen interest shown by Amity students, Mr. Behl invited students on 16th October 2009 at 6.00 PM for one of his talks on the subject. Also he said that he will request IGNCA to provide complimentary transportation and refreshments of the students for the said date.
