Curtin University, Australia visits Amity University to Explore the Possibilities of Collaboration

Amity University organized a preliminary meeting with Curtin University, Australia, to explore partnership opportunities between the two Universities. A high-level delegation from Curtin University visited the campus today.

The five member delegation was led by Prof.Grant O Neill – Dean International - Accreditation, and Strategy, Curtin Business School and accompanied by Prof.Celia Cornwell – Dean International, Faculty of Health Sciences; Prof. Anna Parkin – Dean International, Faculty of Humanities; Mr. Pankaj Pathak –Business Development and Intelligence Manager, Curtin Business School; Ms.Gillian Ajayi – Associate Director – Relations & Strategic Recruitment; Ms.Ujala Chadha – Director, Rank Global Services Company, New Delhi and Mr. RajivMathur – Director, Rank Global Services Company, New Delhi.

Welcoming the guests, Dr. Gurinder Singh, GroupAdditional Vice Chancellor Amity University said the Amity University believesin providing quality education and training to the students. Mr. Singh apprised that Amity is keen on collaborations for establishment of Joint Centre of Excellence, Exploring possibilities of academic tie-up for semester abroad programme, Sponsoring Internship, Joint Supervision of PhD Programmes and Joint filing of patents. He further added that the partnership will be a goodopportunity for the two universities to share education and training experiences.

Prof. Grant O Neill gave a presentation on the attributes of courses and teaching pattern at Curtin University. He praised the infrastructure, atmosphere and culture of Amity University.Sharing his views on areas of interest, Mr. Neill said that Curtin University is willing to establish cooperative relations in the field of India Immersion Programme, Student Exchange, Research Collaboration and establishment of space for Curtin Officials in Amity University and vice-versa.

The meeting was attended by Prof. (Dr.) R CDeka, Advisor to Founder President; Wg Cdr SK Goel, Deputy Director,International Affairs Department; Senior Officials, HOIs, faculty and staff of Amity University.

Talk on German Energy Transition

The MAE dept organised a talk on German Energy Transition By Dr Axel Harneit-Sievers of Boell Foundation India. He discussed the transition of German energy from nuclear to renewables. German Govt is scarpping its nuclear power programme in favour of renewables.

The Heinrich Böll Stiftung / Foundation (HBF) is the Green Political Foundation from Germany. Headquartered in Berlin and with about 28 international offices, HBF conducts and supports civic educational activities and projects world-wide.

HBF poses as a green think-tank and international policy network, working with governmental and non-governmental actors and focusing on gender equity, sustainable development, and democracy and human rights.

HBF is present in India since 2002, with the HBF India office in New Delhi coordinating the interaction with local project partners. HBF India’s programme activities are focused on three areas: Climate and Resources; Gender & Socio-Economic Policies; and Democracy & Dialogue.
