A galaxy of industry professionals from art and design background descended at Amity University campus, Sector 125 to address the students of Amity School of Fine Arts on the topic of "Industry Expectations from Young Professionals."

The event witnessed the presence of eminent speakers including Mr. Dattatraya Apte – Eminent Artist; Mr.Vinay Vikarm Singh – CEO, Twin Brain Studios; Mr Sanjay Tiwar – CEO , JUXT Consultant;Mr Avik Bindu – Creative Director , ABM Communication and Mr Neeraj Mittra –Eminent Artist.

Presenting his brilliant artwork to students, Mr. Dattaraya Apte said that there are lot many career opportunities open to artists and designers in the industry.  He further added that the basic expectation of industry is clarity in subject knowledge, initiative & innovativeness from budding artists. He also emphasized the significance of skill development of young professionals like observational skills, communication skills, etc for their wholesome development. He advised the students to be creative with everything they see and to keep experimenting in their work for growth as an artist.  

Addressing the gathering, Mr Neeraj Mittra said that art is about exploration and innovation. He mentioned that a person can work for years but an artist is the one who does multiple works for years. He stressed that budding professionals should not limit themselves to a particular form but must carve out wide dimension of creativity. Mr. Mittra advised students to produce original work and always show the produced work to experienced artists for review.

The students enthusiastically interacted with the industry speakers and gained tremendously from this interface.

Dr. Pradeep Joshi, Director, ASFT& ASFA addressed the gathering and thanked the doyens of the industry for addressing the students and stressed the need for greater industry-academic interface thereby asking for continuous support and guidance from industry.

Amity School of Fashion Technology showcased Graduation Design Collection of 2013-2016 Batch on 8^th April 2016 at Amity University Lucknow campus. The "Graduation Design Collection" is an event, which provides an opportunity to the final year students (Batch-2013-2016) to present themselves as future fashion designers stepping into the world of fashion.

The students came up with individual themes to design an ensemble of four to five garments, involving deep thinking and proving their individuality as designers. Our students have worked on some interesting themes involving `Mystical Mint Mist, Floral Breakfast, Cabinet of Curiosity, Masculine Feminine, Saviour, Clash of Queens, Unusual Coupling, Flesh it out,  Undiscovered, Flamenco, polish cops, Panchtatva, New in Paris, Rubik’s Cube, 3D Geometric, Fantasy Fest, Unconventional Princess, Floppy and flappy, Black Beauty etc.

The Students were awarded on following categories –

1.      Best Ramp Appeal – Sampada Singhal,

2.      Best Constructed Garment- Deepika Yadav,  

3.      Best Photo shoot- Shriya Singh Bais,

4.      Most Dramatic Concept-Shristi & Rupa Rani,

5.      Most Innovative Concept-Shikha Singh,

6.      Best Colour Coordination- Unnati Tripathi,

7.       Best Ready to Wear Collection-Siddhi Gulati  & Geetika Khare ,

8.       Best Collection 2016- Anamika Mishra.
