Mechanical Engineering Students participated in a Seminar on Gas Turbine Technology

Mechanical Engineering Students from Amity School of Engineering & Technology participated in a National seminar on Gas Turbine Technology organized by Department of Mechanical Engineering, AUUP in conjunction with American Society of Mechanical Engineers on 07th November, 2016 for the intellectual benefit and growth of mechanical engineering students.

American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a not for profit international organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, skill developments in all engineering disciplines, with an aim to develop solution that can benefit lives and livelihood. The mission of ASME is to serve diverse global communities by advancing, disseminating and applying engineering knowledge for improving the quality of life, and communicating the excitement of engineering.

The Main objective of the seminar was to impart knowledge and understanding about the role of Gas Turbines in various industries to provide basic understanding of turbo-machinery & its aerodynamics. Seminar another major emphasis area was on to discuss structural design aspects in a gas turbine ,heat transfer design aspect in turbo-machinery ,techniques and constraints in the areas of turbo-machinery blade design, importance of testing in gas turbine development and various emerging gas turbine technologies.

It was an extremely informative seminar which aided the students in enhancing their knowledge and understanding of working, utilization and application of turbo-machinery in actual working conditions. The topics covered during the seminar were exclusively selected keeping in consideration the importance of industry integration and the need for enhancement on both theoretical knowledge and technical skill fronts of the students.
