Amity Institute of Education & Training commenced “Certificate Course in Management of Academic Institutions” for 28 officers of Army, Navy and Air Force

Amity Institute of Education & Training commenced “Certificate Course in Management of Academic Institutions” of 10 weeks duration for 28 officers of Army, Navy and Air Force who seek a second career in proliferating Education Industry. The course is being sponsored by Directorate General of Resettlement,Ministry of Defence and is being conducted in University Campus, Sector-125,Noida.

 

Amity University, as per the vision and mission of its Founder President, Dr. Ashok K Chauhan, has been training serving and retiring Armed Forces personnel at concessional fees in recognition of their service to the nation in guarding the frontiers. DGR sponsored resettlement courses for the retiring officers, JCOs & Other Ranks from Army, Navy & Air Force are being conducted in Amity University for almost a decade now.

 

Maj Gen Jagatbir Singh, VSM ,   Director General   Resettlement(DGR), Ministry of Defence, Group Captain M Vijay, Director Training,Headquarters DGR, Maj Gen Subash Bindra, VSM (Retd), Senior Director Amity Institute of Education & Training and Maj Gen K J Singh (Retd),  the Group Vice Chancellor of Amity Universities inaugurated the programme

 

Maj Gen Subash Bindra, VSM (Retd), Senior Director, Amity Institute of Education &Training (AIET) welcomed the officers and assured them that their aspirations associated with the course will be met as Amity Group has a vast range of Academic Institutions right from Pre- Nursery to Doctoral level, which are being run in most efficient manner. “The Group with its vast resources will definitely add on to the practical knowledge of the participants”, asserted Gen. Bindra.

 

Maj Gen Jagatbir Singh, VSM , while addressing the officers, said that Armed Force spersonnel need to retrain and re-orient their skills before entering the civil street to garner a second career post retirement. He conveyed that in order   to ensure high standard of this resettlement training, best brains and Institutions are selected to conduct the courses.  Appreciating Amity University, he said that Amity University is a premier Institute of great repute which itself has large number of Defence Officers employed at key positions within its own precincts.

 

Maj Gen K J Singh (Retd)- Group Vice Chancellor of Amity Universities and Executive Senior Vice President, Ritnand Balved Education Foundation (RBEF) complimented the officers for choosing Amity University to prepare themselves for their second career. He conveyed that Amity is the only University which provides holistic education and where modernity blends with tradition. He further  said that   with the traits and experience acquired in Armed Forces,sky is the limit to which they can aspire to rise in their second innings and urged them to keep continuing the noble task of Nation Building with same zeal as they have protected the Nation while in uniform.

Workshop on Prototyping Future education

 A workshop on prototyping future education, organized by Amity school of liberal arts was conducted by a team of expert educationists from Russia. The workshop witnessed the participation of over 60 faculty members from different schools, as well as some enthusiastic students.

 

The workshop began with a welcome address by Prof. S.K. Jha, Director, ASLA who introduced the guests from Russia and spoke about the significance of the workshop. This was followed by an inaugural address by Prof. Padmakali Banerjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, AUH who spoke about the need for transcending beyond the traditional techniques of learning and moving towards a new teaching-learning approach. 

 

During the first session of the workshop, Mr. Ivan Nineko, Representative, Global Education Future, made a presentation highlighting the salient features of Future Education model and its implementation in the existing educational framework. The second session of the workshop was a hands-on activity in which all the participants were engaged in group activity. Various new concepts were introduced during this activity and the participants were made to learn about future education based on the ‘learning through doing’ model. The participants shower great enthusiasm during the activity.

 

The Main objective of the workshop was sharing new pattern of education, Use of New technology in education, a new concept in the realm of education wherein the participants are taught to think beyond the paradigm of utopia and dystopia.
