Amity University Madhya Pradesh organizes a National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Green Technology”

A one day National Seminar on “Emerging Trends in Green Technology” was organized by the Amity School of Architecture & Planning, Amity University Madhya Pradesh on 22nd April 2016. The inaugural session was graced by the presence of Prof. Savita Raje, Dean (School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal) as the Chief Guest, the guest of honour Prof. Sanjeev Singh, Dean (School of Architecture & Planning, Bhopal), speakers Prof.  Rajendra Kumar, Associate Professor (Sushant School of Architecture) Dr. Pilar Maria, Conservation Architect, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor AUMP Lt Gen V K Sharma, AVSM (Retd.), Prof. Y P Singh (HOD, ASAP) alongwith all the HOIs & HODs of AUMP and a number of delegates.

In the opening remarks during the inaugural session of the seminar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Lt Gen V K Sharma focused on various opportunities and challenges in the area of green technology and the importance of Green in terms ofarchitecture.  He also mentioned past and present technologies used in architecture. The keynote speaker Prof. Savita Raje emphasized on “Technical Aspects in Indian Scenario”. In her talk , she described the importance and interesting aspects related to green technology. She also shared her views on energy conservation and zero -energy buildings, low energy usage and carbon emissions.She said these issues can have a big impact on society in the era of green technology.

The proceedings of the seminar were released during the inauguration. The souvenir contains compilation of 34 papers, which were selected after peer review process out of seventy nine papers received from various scholars/researchers,students, academicians and professionals.

The inaugural session was followed by the invited talk of the Guest of Honour Prof. Sanjeev Singh who talked on sustainable design in architecture in detail and how it contributes to the modern generation. Sustainable design is a way in which the design is in accordance with where there is no construction without causing damage to Nature and the structure is built without harming the natural elements.

During the invited talk given by Dr. Pilar Maria on “Sustainable Green Design”, she explained the relevance of vernacular architecture in sustainable design and how that can be incorporated. The second speaker Ar. Rajendra Kumar during his talk showed some videos and shared his views on roles and responsibilities of an architect and his commitment towards the sustainable designing in the profession.

There were three technical sessions during the seminar. Each session was judged by a panel containing a guest speaker and two faculties from ASAP. The session was very useful for the participants as the presentations were followed by effective discussions with the guest speakers.

During the valedictory session, the seminar report was presented by Ar. Shivani Paliwal (Convener) summarising the event. All participants were awarded the certificates and mementos by Lt Gen V K Sharma AVSM (Retd.) Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, AUMP, Gwalior. A vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Y P Singh mentioning all the contributors, delegates the participants.

Amity University Madhya Pradesh organizes a workshop on “Being Positive-No Matter What!

Amity University Madhya Pradesh conducted a workshop on “Being Positive: No Matter What!” on 5th January 2017.

The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Sunita Didi Chandak, Ph.D, International Management Consultant, CEO, Spiritual Quotient Consulting Centre, Surat. 

 

Spiritual Quotient Consulting Centre (SQCC), are a professional management consulting firm in Surat, Gujarat, India, which provides training programs on soft skills of leadership is unbiased towards any religion, cult and/or sect, focuses on ethics, values and behavioral skills required at workplace.

 

The workshop was conducted in the presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor AUMP, respected Pro- Vice Chancellor with Registrar, Deans and Directors of all the departments.

 

The workshop highlighted the importance of being positive in any situation favorable or unfavorable to us. The workshop was very fruitful as life is all about being optimistic and not thinking negative about any situation. The workshop was very interactive and students asked a lot of questions on how in different situations one can keep oneself motivated and positive!

 

The workshop was attended by all the students of 4th and 6th semesters of AUMP.

 

At the end of the workshop, Honorable Vice Chancellor AUMP also shared his thoughts and asked the students to remain positive even if the situation is against than.

 

The workshop was well received and Amity University Madhya Pradesh hopes to conduct more such workshops in future.
