Amity School of engineering and technology organized seminar on Amity Learning Management System on 1stDecember 2016 by Prof.(Dr.) Manoranjan Pon. Ram (Jt Director Academics, ADDOE, Amity University, Noida).
In this session main concentration was on pedagogical approach in which direct instruction moves from the group learning space to the individual learning space, and the resulting group space is transformed into a dynamic.
During his talk he explained the concept of Filpped classroom model in which direct instruction moves from the group learning space to the individual learning space, and the resulting group space is transformed into a dynamic. Short video lectures covering the conceptual background of subjects are viewed by students at home before the class session, while in-class time is devoted to exercises, projects and discussions.
The outcome of this model includes a focus on efficient use of class time which encourages problem based learning, increases learner-instructor interaction, allows the learners to take responsibility for their learning and education, Learners get the freedom over how, when and where they learn, At its most basic level, the flipped classroom gives learners more control over their education, allowing them to start/stop or rewind important lectures to focus on key points, Devoting class time to application of concepts give instructors a better opportunity to identify gaps in the understanding of learners.
It was an extremely informative session enabling faculty to track student performance based on learning alongside tracking their own performance also.
