Amity School of Engineering & Technology organizes Workshop on Writing Reports and Research Papers in LATEX on 4th November, 2017

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, ASET conducted a National Workshop on “Writing Reports and Research Papers in LATEX” dated 04 Nov, 2017 in Lecture Theatre and Computer Lab, Block - A of the University to create an awareness of writing high quality research reports and papers using LATEX software.

This workshop was organized with the following objective first, to create awareness amongst students and faculties about report and thesis writing, particularly the role of report writing in the Industry and Society, second, to facilitate interaction among Indian industries, organizations, researchers and academia to tackle global challenges from the perspectives of new technological developments in the field of professional report writing. 

LATEX is software which provides platform for writing high quality reports.  This workshop provided a hands-on experience of LATEX to the participants and created an awareness of using LATEX for writing their various research reports and papers.

Hon'ble Director, ASET, AUMP, Maj Gen (Dr) S C Jain, VSM** (Retd) delivered the opening remarks and enlightened the participants with the importance of Latex Software for research paper & thesis report writing. He explained the importance of Latex in the life of research scholars and academician.

Mr. Vikas Mahor, Assistant Professor, Electronics & Communication Engineering was the Key Note speaker of the workshop. He delivered the Keynote address on “Writing Reports and Research Papers in LATEX”. He demonstrated the working of LATEX software to the participants. He also demonstrated how to use LATEX software for creating high quality research papers and reports.

The National Workshop resulted in knowledge sharing by young researchers of various institutes around the country i.e. Agra, Jaipur, Bhopal and Indore. The technical sessions also enhanced the reputation of AUMP as a research and innovation driven University. At this occasion Hon'ble Director, ASET, AUMP Maj Gen (Dr) S C Jain, VSM** (Retd.) released Vol. I Issue II of e-news letter AMITECH.

The one day workshop ended with the certificate distribution. The 31 outside participants from various institutes in-house participants of AUMP.

The event was covered by leading newspapers / news-sites. This has resulted in brand building of AUMP and is likely to result in enhanced admission in the forthcoming session. A data base of all the participants have been developed and maintained for future reference.

The HOD ECE, ASET, in his concluding remark, appreciated the efforts put in by the faculty of ECE Department and also thanked the keynote speaker for sparing his valuable time. Also, he anticipated that, in future more such events may be organised to encourage our students. He felt such things would enhance the employability among students. The event ended with vote of thanks given by Prof. (Dr.) Raghavendra Sharma, HOD ECE to the participants and to keynote speaker.

Peter England Mr. India 2nd Runner Up Altamash Faraz gets warm Homecoming at Amity University

Amity Law School Delhi welcomed itsproud alumni Mr. Altamash Faraz, who has won the coveted title of Peter EnglandMr. India 2 nd Runner Up at University Campus Noida.

Hewas warmly received by Dr.(Prof.)Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh; Dr. D KBandhopadhyay, Chairman, Amity Law Schools; Dr. Alka Munjal- Director,Academics and Faculty members of Amity Law School Delhi.

Thecolors of Homecoming Ceremony unfolded with sowing a plant sapling by Mr.Altamash Faraz who was accompanied by his father, mother and brother.

CongratulatingAltamash Faraz on his achievement, Dr.(Prof.)Balvinder Shukla said “Amity family is proud over the extraordinaryachievement of its student Altamash Arya.” She praised Altamash for hishardwork and dedication.

Expressinghis contentment on the success of alumni Altamash Faraz, Dr. D K Bandhopadhyaysaid that is a moment of great pride and delight for Amity to be the Alma Materof such an outstanding achiever. He mentioned that it is easy for an individualto keep walking on a chosen path like law student is expected to be an advocateor judge as a professional but Altamash charted a different path and workedwith commitment to achieve success. He is now a role model to the youngsters.

Sharinghis views, Peter England Mr. India 2ndRunner Up Altamash Faraz remarked that he is overwhelmed with the honor andlove he received at his Alma Mater, Amity University. He expressed hisgratitude towards his family and Faculty Members for supporting him through hisjourney. Mr. Faraz mentioned that now he feels the responsibility to aspire theyouth to be the change the world needs. He averred that it is a privilege tohave a platform to share your views and he assured to use the opportunity isspreading positive messages. Addressing the students, he encouraged to believein themselves and take bolder step in life which can lead to success. He advisedthe students that life is short and one must follow his dreams.

Visitingthe memory lanes at University Campus, he shared the experience of his studentdays and said that he misses the days of being care free and fun times withfriends he has spend at college.

Duringthe visit, he went for a campus round and visited his favorite hang out placesincluding classroom, gym, arcadia- gaming zone and sports ground.
