Amity International School, Noida, held SUROPASANA, the annual Pre-Primary Sports Day 2008 for the students of Nursery and K.G. classes on 15th February 2008. Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, RBEF, and Dr. (Mrs). Amita Chauhan, Chairperson, Amity International Schools graced the occasion. They both lit the ceremonial lamp while the choir chanted auspicious Shlokas to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. Senior Officials of RBEF and Heads of Amity Institutions were also present for the day.
Principal, Mrs. Mohina Dar genially welcomed the parents and guests. In her keynote address, she reiterated, "When we, adults feel doubt and uncertainty, let us follow the sunlit paths of our little ones. Their sunny disposition, faith and determination will always give us absolution, enabling us to achieve our top potential." Headmistress, Mrs. Roopma Singh gave a special message of encouragement to wish her little ones all the best for the Sports Day. Meanwhile, the cute comperes, the energetic cheerleaders and the sparkling running commentary added to the soaring spirits.
Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, RBEF addressed the gathering and stated, "Children are remarkable for their intelligence and ardour, for their curiosity, clarity, and ruthlessness of their vision," -- words that were so relevant to the theme of the day.
The festive event was declared open with "Shubh Arambh" (an auspicious take-off), consisting of pigeons and colourful balloons--both harbingers of peace and prosperity. The sports meet kick-started with the "Ankur" and "Balwaan Kaun" both Nursery races. "Kihilkhilate Surajmukhi" and "Rituraj" were the innovative KG races. "Surya Namaskar" (sun salutation) and "Arunoday" indicated the vital and meditative qualities of Lord Surya (Sun God), where both our "outer sun" (purification) and "inner sun" (illumination) as being two inseparable spheres. Drills such as "Antrisk ki Sair" and Indradhanush displayed the beauty of the solar system and spectacular light shows visible from Mother Earth. The day culminated with the Grand Finale titled, "Super Power Banege Hum," as a promise to fulfill the "Vision" of both Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan and Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan as the little Amitians will face challenges, commitment, competition and competence head on.
The Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Amita Chauhan blessed the students and teachers, congratulating them for putting such a remarkable and inspiring show in her Vote of Thanks.
