Amity International School, Noida organized Founders Day on 7th November 2008 to celebrate the birthday of Founder President, Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan. On this special day, the meritorious students are felicitated for their outstanding performance in the previous academic year. Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson and members of the Chauhan family graced the occasion with their presence. The Heads of Amity Institutions and other distinguished guests were also present.
The programme commenced on an auspicious note with Dr. Chauhan lighting the lamp, amidst the chanting of the Shloka Gayan. The school choir stirred the audience patriotic sentiments with a beautiful composition, Ab Jaag Utho. The senior students presented a skit called, Amity Universe-2030,which depicted Dr. Chauhans pioneering vision of the future, translated into reality by Amitians. In her address to the audience, Principal, Mrs. Mohina Dar hailed Dr.Chauhan as a trailblazer in the field of education whose undaunted spirit and fierce determination is a perennial source of inspiration to Amitians.
The students expressed their love and admiration for their Founder President by showering him with flowers and presenting beautiful hand-made cards. A song by Mrs. Mankotia Maams choir, Mubarak Ho Saalgirah, expressed birthday felicitations in the true Amitian spirit. In his address to the audience, Dr. Chauhan reiterated his firm belief in a sound education that helps an individual blossom into a socially responsible adult. He urged the students to have a mission in life, make a difference to society and utilize education to make a meaningful contribution to national growth. Later a student from Germany, Sophie Balzuweit shared her thoughts with the students.
The meritorious students received scholarships and trophies for their exemplary academic performance in the year gone by. Over 370 prizes were awarded in all, which included 160 for national level participation in sports,dramatics and other activities. The Founders Day Special Award recipients were : Divya Sohal, Ashima Khanna, Sarvagya Vaish and Shibani Sondhi, all students of Class XII.
The Chairperson, Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan congratulated the students and advised them to nurture a dream and vision like their dear Founder President, and work relentlessly to spread the light of knowledge.Vice Principal, Mrs. Renu Singh proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with the school song and the National Anthem.
