Amity Centre for Science Olympiads organized the Valedictory Function of Science and Mathematics Olympiad Workshop on, September 26, 2009 at Amity Campus, Sector-125, Noida.
The aim of Mathematics Olympiad is to encourage young students to strive for excellence in Mathematics, and to promote friendship among students, teachers and scientists from different parts in India and the world. Amity Centre for Science Olympiads (ACSO) was established under the aegis of Amity Institute for Competitive Examinations (AICE) in which a large number of students are well trained by able faculty.
Eminent guests who shared their views with the distinguished gathering included Dr. Dinesh Singh, Director, University of Delhi South Campus and Dr Indrajeet Singh Bakshi, Principal Dyal Singh College, Uiversity of Delhi.
Dr Indrajeet Singh Bakshi, Principal Dyal Singh College, Uiversity of Delhi thanked ACSO and AICE for giving him the opportunity to be a part of the event. He said, “success is actually taking the risk. As students you need to experiment and always remain attached and focused to your goal. If you have a dream, nurture it, don’t let it go. As scientist students you should have acute observation power.”
While addressing the gathering Dr. Dinesh Singh, Director, University of Delhi South Campus said that he was delighted to get himself connected with Amity University and amongst the young minds. He gave his mantra to the students to always do well in life. He said, “my mantra to keep forward in life and to do well is just remember that God is a mathematician. Think carefully and analyze the statement. Any field of human endeavor and any aspect of human life, there is God’s calculation. And to understand this you have to learn mathematics. Always remember success does not mean earning too much of money. Follow your insight with your education. The very basis of life has a mathematical principal embedded in it.”
Mr Ayeesh Agam a student of APJ, Noida who was a participant of the Olympiad workshop said due to the qualified trainers, the students understood the theoretical concepts along with practical examples taught to them. Amity provided a good platform for us to learn and compete.
Ms Twinkle, another participant said that the workshop gave us a profound understanding and heath care was taken with yoga classes in the morning.
This was the 8th Olympiad Workshop that was held in Amity. The Mathematics Olympiad was a talent search training programme. Students of various schools who participated in the training were awarded with certificates and prizes. A total number of 70 students participated in the Mathematics Olympiad Workshop from various schools. The schools which participated in the Mathematics Olympiad are APJ, Noida, Amity Intermnational School, Gurgaon, Amity International School Noida, Amity International School, Saket, Amity International School, Delhi, Amity International School, Vasundhara, S N Kansara School, Rajkot, Gujarat to name a few.
